Do you expect anything more from a 2nd rate team. Im surprised rangers got past the very very bad Fioretina....

Even against Everton, Fiorentina were bad!!

Very bad Fiorentina? Are we a bit biased here hulmey? I know you hate Italian clubs. :p

Fiorentina totally demolished Rangers in their home and away matches, constantly playing in Rangers' half. They were unlucky not to find the goal. Rangers just got lucky with the penalty shoot out. Even in the semi final the only thing Rangers did was defend with 11 men while Fiorentina created football.

In manchester yesterday for the game. I am a neutral.
I saw no trouble where I was. In fact I did not know any had happened until I got up this morning. Every single fan I meet was fun and there were a lot of fans there.
What I can say is that Zenit was bloody good on the day. Although Rangers were poor. They offered nothing going forward.
They throughly deserved their victory.

And DazMcfc, can I say I throughly enjoyed the 8-1 loss at the weekend
Oh and for the thread. Spurs. Born and Breed. I am a 3rd generation fan and my son is now a 4th generation.
I don't care to belong to a club that accepts people like me as members.

first things first. RIP Tommy Burns a very good player and a really good guy.

Ruben, Rangers football maybe negative but it gets results. you talk about Foirentina and possesion, you could say that Barcelaona had 67% possesion against Man United, but United went through because Barca could not score. so i'm not falling for that we did not deserve to get to the final. i'm a Rangers fan, because all my family are from Glasgow.

anyway, what a great day i had. thousands upon thousands just roaming the streets drinking and singing. where the violence was i was nowhere near and did not know anything about it. there were 3 fa zones, with 3big screens. Piccadilly Gardens(where the violence was) was closed 4 hour before kick off because it was full to the brim(it is a very large area). the screen went off just before kick off so that is why it flared up.

Albert Square was another fan zone, but my brother said they were not selling beer there. this is where the Zenit fans were supposed to be, but there was that many Rangers fans they left.

Cathedral Gardens where i was closed with about 1 1/2 before kick off and there was no violence there a hell of a lot of singing and drinking. the buildng at the side off it where we were, they were filming from a window and people were trying to kick footballs through it(it was about 3 floors up). eventually 1 went through the window and hit the woman reporter on her head. a very loud cheer went up for that one and we got the ball back aswell.

went to Tesco's(on Market st, city centre) early on for some beer, got there and there was none left. only spirits and wine, not much spirits left either, so i got a bottle of rose wine. wet into the Arndale centre into Aldi and there was not much beer left there aswell. got some lager(no cider) and one of my cousins got a 24 pack of lager. it was packed to the rafter in Aldi and the atmosphere in there was amazing. the people behind the tills were probably wondering what the f*ck was going on. there was a few people in there who were just doing their shopping.

everywhere you looked, there were Rangers fans. i don't know how many was there as altogether, but it must off been well over 120,000.

what a great day, it's just a pity about the result, but none the less a treble will be a great year. :D

Why am I biased? Because I say the truth and point out that Rangers don't know how to create football and only know how to defend with 11 men?

Even I prefer Celtic to Rangers but that's another story. I am commenting on how they played in the UEFA Cup.

Personally I support only one team - Juventus. There are teams that I like and sympathise with like Spartak Moscow, Celtic, Liverpool and Valencia but I only support one team.

Well there's more behind that story than you could possibly imagine hulmey. Juventus were just the scapegoat. It's complicated and I won't go into it here.

There is a lot of corruption in Italian football...I am sure there is corruption in other leagues as well though. :)

Anyway Juventus are up there with the top 10 clubs in the world. I am proud to be a supporter and I supported them even in Serie B and during these two painful years without Champions League. Next year we will be back. ;)

this has occured in the mid 80's. a friendly match at Ibrox, i went with my 2 brothers. me and the oldest on supported Rangers and my othe brother City. Rangers won 2-1. :D

living in England all my life, it is easier to support an English team and my dad said "support anyone, except Celtic or United" so we all support Rangers(brothers were both born in Glasgow) and City. there is no conflict here and not a problem. everybody who knows me understands where i'm coming from.

nNo offense but i dont think juve are in the top 10 in the world, I think they were before they got relegated and half their players went elsewhere but i dont think they are now.

DAZ I bet you were one of those people kicking that poilceman on the ground after the UEFA final ;)

Seriously though its shocking behavior, its clear their violence there was well after the game and nothing to do with a screen braking, there are no excuses it gives Scots a bad name shame on those idiots.

actually Hugh, quite a few of he ones causing the violence have been identifed as local hooligans from the Manchester area. a friend of mine in work son went to town for the atmosphere and seen a Rangers fan sat on the platform of the Metro(tram service) and a Black lad and his mate ran up to him and smashed a bottle across his face and both where kicking him in the head and then ran off. he said they looked like local scroats. so not all te violence were from Rangers fans or Scots.

Juve arent even in The Top 20...Getting relegated destroyed them.m Doe anyone remember what a great Team Marseille have which got done for corruption and were regelated to league 4 lol. They struggled even more.

To Ruben ; juve werent scape goats they rightly punished along with other teams who got far worse punishment. But i like Juve so I wont push the matter lol

Ps....theres no corruption in English football but im not going to say there never will be.

Juve aren't even top 20? Come on mate...name me 20 teams that are better than Juve. This year we came 3rd in the Serie A which is one of the top three leagues in Europe along with England and Spain.

Next year we're back in the Champions League. I guess that's why people think we're not top 10 material because we haven't played there for the past couple of years and you get a lot of exposure from the Champions League. By the end of the next season people will remember us again...

And about Juve not being scapegoats...the whole thing was orchestrated by the Inter boss Moratti and his partner who is conveniently the boss of Telecom Italia. The other teams got away with nothing while Juve paid for everyone. Milan were even allowed to play the Champions League and win it while we were relegated after having won the scudetto. We had by far the best team that year.

I severly doubt that. Theres corruption everywhere not always in match fixing butthings like agents and transfers, Faye and Mascherano/Tevez are recent examples.
