cheating

Postby Jeff Hardy on Fri May 23, 2008 10:20 pm

How does Conquer Club know if players are the same person or just two friends/brothers using the same computer?
My brother and I both use the same computer and go on around about the same time and I'm often scared CC might think I am him.

Best advice I can give you is don't play each others' accounts, even if you're legally babysitting, because that'll make you look suspicious. Best way to avoid suspicion is to upgrade one or both accounts to premium.

I've done both of those things in the past but I won't do anymore.
I suppose I've been very lucky.
Thanks a lot.

Couldn't both of you just share one premium?

I thought this issue was never actually concluded due to other concerns (wilderbeast being a multi and all). If there was an official decision, can someone please post the link.

Mods have said it several times. I'm sure if you used the search function you could find it :)

I believe I did find an/the official answer:
Twill wrote:DiM, thank you as always for your creative public awareness campaign :)

You posted this in the wrong place. This is more of a cheating/abuse topic than a GD, I've moved it for you.

Now, the problem is from our side and our side only seeing as the only people it really affects (other than the seeming schizophrenia of the account being shared) is Lack and his accountant.

Now, we know these accounts exist. For some it is a matter of not being able to afford extra accounts, some are families who don't want kids having their own account for supervising reasons, etc etc. For most people this would be more trouble than it is worth because while, yes, you get all the games, you lose the score, feedback, PM and posting features we have on this site - you can't use them because they aren't "you" and so they are meaningless.

If you want to let 100 people into your account to ruin your reputation, score and posts, feel free. I'd enjoy watching the fallout :)

Now, let me be very clear
If any one of the people sharing that account ever signs up for another account we will bust both accounts, and anyone who plays on the accounts, as multis faster than they can say "oh poopoo"
You are allowed one and only one account. If you share your account with someone you better be sure they don't want, and don't have, their own account because you will lose yours if they try to make their own. We wont risk you using them as multis and trying to weasel out with the "but he's my room mate" excuse ;)

Hope that answers that.

Have a good one
