I was in the desert one evening looking at the sky, and in the east I saw this red-orange ball of light that slowly rose above the horizon...it was moving really slow. I thought it was a UFO, but I watched it and observed that it was only the planet Mars which was at its closest point to earth within the past 700,000 years.

I saw mars outside of my bedroom window then... It was really cool.
