I hate to chime in late here, but I am appalled that O'Bama would pick a commensurate Washington Insider. I was a Hillary supporter in the beginning. I was on the fence, having some serious doubts when snipits of O'Bama's the tax plan were published last week by O'Bama's advisers. The upper middle class of America - that position that most aspire to and which has always been within reach with the right mix of talent and hard work - will get creamed by his progam. The upper class, that position in society occupied through (1) hereditary wealth, (2) extraordinary luck, or (3) duping the masses into funding your wealth, and which does very little to support the economic morale of the country, will largely go on with business as usual.
And now O'Bama gives another glipse of his true colors. Biden is a choice that big money - the party superstars whose largess is responsible for O'Bama turning down matching funds for his campaig - can be comfortable with. To anyone who thinks foreign policy is the most important issue, McCain's willingness to commit to victory and unapologetically refusing to pander to the public is far superior in my opinion to picking a beltway insider with foreign policy experience as VP. The only reason Cheney has wielded influence as a VP is because of his close relationship with the Bush. The far more important position in an O'Bama administration impacting foreign policy will be his Secretary of State. On the other hand, the choice of VP sets up the tone of who they are trying to make feel at home again in the party. And it's not Hillary Clinton democrats. It's the big money party bosses. This choice moves me further down the line toward a McCain vote. If only he wasn't trying to pander to the female vote by parading around his "school teacher" with hereditary wealth trophy wife (wow, who actually thought she would be an asset to the campaign... maybe in the 1950's???)...
My ever constant two last games seem to have no end in sight!
