How did you know?
I pulled it straight off their website though. They didn't send it to me either.

Because Camaign for Liberty is the main site now for anything Ron Paul. It is where all the money went for Ron Paul's campaign. They started Campaign for Liberty to keep the torch lit...I figured that something like that would be found on that particular website.

Damn. I was digging through whitehouse archives and found these quotes by bush kind of funny:

Radio Address by the President to the Nation January 27, 2001
"We need to aim high, but we also need to be realistic. Many schools, particularly those in poor neighborhoods, will need help to meet high standards. And they will have it, including a new $5 billion initiative over five years for reading instruction. The goal is to improve our public schools. We want them to succeed, and when they're willing to change, we'll give them the tools to do so.
At the same time, we will not continue to pour taxpayers' money into schools that do not teach and will not change. My plan will give every failing school a fair chance to improve, but there will be a deadline, a moment of truth when parents are given better options and their children are given a way out."

Radio Address by the President to the Nation February 10, 2001
"Whenever America acts in the world, our principles must be certain, our intentions beyond doubt, our strength be unchallenged. This is how conflicts are avoided. This is how problems are dealt with before they become crises."

Radio Address by the President to the Nation February 3, 2001
"The economic news these days is troubling -- rising energy prices, layoffs, falling consumer confidence. This is not a time for government to be taking more money than it needs away from the people who buy goods and create jobs."

Obviously the time for that is as he's on his way out the door #-o

Sure. I bet that in December of 2000, you NEVER would have believed that our own air planes would have been commandeered by terrorist operatives and used to attack our nation's financial and military centers either. You are so wise though. :|

um, google it?

He did not use those exact words, but NPR (National Public Radio) Morning addition had excerpts. He said we are in dire straights and that unless action is taken immediately, the entire economy will collapse.

No one disagrees that something needs doing, but many in congress are reluctant to just pass Bush's plan "as is".

Think about it ... we are being asked to foot roughly $3000 EACH operson, (including babies) whle CEO's of companies, under Bush's plan, are still allowed to collect their full paycheck of around 20,000,000 -40,000,000 EACH. Bush and his cronies claim that placing limits on these paychecks or bonuses of any kind will "make some companies turn away from the package"

GIVE ME A BREAK!!!! It seems that it is only we poor folks who have to fiscally responsible... everyone else NEEDS to be supported, because they buy so much more than we and their paychecks will just naturally "trickle down" to us.... (my summary of Bush's economic plan!).

Meanwhile, my husband works over 40 hours a week in a SKILLED position, volunteers as a fire chief, as a boy scout leader, Little league coach, football coach, ETC.... and the only reason we don't qualify for reduced lunches with 2 kids is that he gets a small stipen for being fire chief ... a whole $125 quarterly ... never mind that he spends more than that in gas. (that and though we pay out child support ... as he should! ... we don't get to deduct that money NOR do we get to count the stepkids as dependents ... to contrast, the custodial parent gets that money tax free AND, though it is there to help with expenses, it does not count as "income" for reduced lunches, WIC, medical assistance, etc. --- so if you have kids, make sure you don't get married ... THAT is the message of the US Government apparently!!!)

BUT yeah... WE don't really contribute to the economy. WE are just a drain!

I have a lot of appreciation for what you say here. It is middle America that is being taken to the cleaners on the vast majority of this 2 party system. Yours was an excellent post.

If the film Point Break had been made in 2012, one of the ex presidents bank robbers (in a GW mask instead of Regan) would rush into the bank waving around a pump action, screaming at everyone to 'Get down on the floor, 'Nobody move'

He would then throw suitcases of cash at the guy he was robbing.

Hopefully Jimmy Carter and Nixon would have the good sense to blow his head off

Close to finalizing a deal.
This sounded like BS to me though:
The legislation would place "reasonable" limits on severance packages for executives of companies that benefit from the rescue plan, said a senior administration official who was authorized to speak only on background.

Added Sen. John Kerry, D-Mass.: "I think we have accountability."

How do you have "accountability" if these guys are still getting paid?
And who's paying thim?

Among the provisions of the draft bill:

* The $700 billion would be disbursed in stages, with $250 billion made available immediately for the Treasury's use.
* Curbs will be placed on the compensation of executives at companies that sell mortgage assets to Treasury. Among them, the bill would limit golden parachutes to executives at companies that participate; they will not be able to deduct the salary they pay to executives above $500,000.
* An oversight board will be created. The board will include the Federal Reserve chairman, the Securities and Exchange Commission chairman, the Federal Home Finance Agency director and the Housing and Urban Development secretary.
* Allow for the Treasury to receive the option to take ownership stakes in participating companies under certain circumstances.
* Treasury may establish an insurance program - with risk-based premiums paid by the industry - to guarantee companies' troubled assets, including mortgage-backed securities, purchased before March 18, 2008.

You just ruined my life. This bill has not improved by much.

It doesn't sound that far-fetched though. I am hearing open talks of rebelion in various forms on free radio. these people aren't serious, they are just saying that it should be in the backs of peoples minds. The National Taxpayers Union is even talking about openly refusing to pay taxes. This is getting pretty scary.
