The fact that I don't trust the CIA as far as I can throw them. Besides, I would only be jeopardizing myself.

I'll be zonist if I want to be. Screw this timing stuff anyways we should all be in the same time zone and you might as well forget the regular time zone in Alaska anyways, after all the sun rises and sets a bit differently up there.

Lookin forward to the turkey tomorrow.
Bought a "Tofurkey" for the curlette (veggie since the summer) - I'll report back on what it's like. I'll have to taste it myslef.
It costs about 10 times as much per pound as Turkey.
Worst thing is I have to make two gravies.

Glad I'm not a veggie. I could never afford something like that every year.

So your saying that being vegetarian is unamerican? Just one more form of intolerance brought to you by the auto/target campaign.

vote wolf/curl '12.

Well, I've tried a number of pretend meats before - this is by far the dearest. And of course, if you go to a supermarket, turkey is real cheap - mine (fresh, not frozen) cost me 89c a pound. Now, there's a certain amount of non-edible bits in that but it all goes to make a serious stock, so none gets wastee. on the other hand, a "tofurkey" of about 1lb 10 oz cost about 15 bucks. considerably more than a 14-lb turkey.

What I can't get in the US is Quorn, a fungus-based pretend meat. Or rather, I can get flavoured, processed, textured "ham-style" quorn or "chicken-style", or sausages, etc - at a huge price. But back in the UK I used to get the unflavoured version as a basic ingredient. I would mix it 50/50 with beef or lamb mince ("ground beef/lamb") to give a healthy and stilll tasty chile, shepherd's pie or whatever.

Crazy. We've gotten a 20-lb turkey for about that price before but that's a heck of a lot bigger than 1lb 10 oz.

Tell that to the curlette.
Or tell her teacher, who has to be related (Mr Wolff).

I don't eat turkey anyway. I'm just gonna chill today and not do anything of importance.

It's not made out of meat so it's automatically off my list.
