The Fountain of Youth is a Black Hole

Postby InkL0sed on Sat Dec 06, 2008 12:08 am

Within the event horizon of a black hole, time does not pass.

Thus, if you can get inside an event horizon before getting torn to pieces, you'll live forever. I have found the Fountain of Youth.

Have fun getting there. Isn't this a Disney movie plot?

Who would you take with you if you could go to such a timeless zone?

Speaking of Black Holes, what happened to that thing that was supposed to kill us?

For some photons, which were released at the instant of the Big Bang, and which have (obviously) been travelling at light-speed ever since, the universe hasn't started yet: they have been travelling at exactly the right speed to negate the passage of time.
These photons are obviously at the edge of the universe.

You know, having just posted that, and then thought about it, (Yes I know that's the wrong way round usually), I have arrived at the conclusion that this is possibly the cleverest answer to any question ever.

"they don't have time".

Well, do they?

I agree, I was impressed. If I could give you a prize, I would, but this is not flame wars.

Frankly, I'm still sitting here stunned by how clever I was.

Jeez, I wish I'd meant to be that clever.

Clever is as clever does -- must have been a muse in the room with you.

That's a question for "share my views", I think, since if I answer it, it'll be a long answer.

and... IF you had someone you'd like to share a timeless zone with, could you get there in time?

what evidence do you have that such a thing as an event horizon actually exists?
