Are we allowed to tell a mapmaker that we don't want his/her map? Hate to be harsh, but stick to the other maps, they're going somewhere and this one'll just end up straight in the Foundry Fires.

(PS, maybe this is just me, but that's where it's at)

Essatly. (That's my way. Supposed to be "eßatly.")
ImageChildren, this is what happens to hockey players, druggies, and Hillary Clinton.

I really think this is necessary. I know how much work goes into map making and would hate to put all that effort in if there's a majority that don't like it. While it may seem harsh to some, I think it's unfair to let someone put many hours into a map that will never get anywhere.

While I think the more maps the better, there has to be a point of saturation where it just becomes too much. Maybe Andy needs to crack down on new maps and shoot them down before too much work has been put into them.

There is an Ancient Egypt map actively being made, I don't think qwert should continue with this idea. I made this mistake with Australia, but at least in my case development of the original Australia map had come to a standstill for many months.

Now everyone go voice your opinion on GodStorm, I want to know if it's worthwhile! It annoys me when people vote but don't give an explanation. I'm guilty of this, but I'm working on it.

Long ago, before you came here...we decided that I am not the 'dictator' of the Foundry...if the community doesn't think a map should be made, let them voice their opinions. I will voice mine, but mine will hold near the same weight.

I understand that, and while I have been here a relatively short time, I think that perhaps the map making process needs to be controlled a bit more strictly. Perhaps not?

Back in the day, I originally set out to have a strict foundry, but that was shot down by the community. Perhaps I went the wrong way with the committee idea, but I don't think a dictator would be any better. I really think the Foundry works rather well in its current state, as long as people voice their opinions freely.

That's fine, I respect that. I guess it's just a bit scary to see how many maps are in development, a lot that will probably not or perhaps should not make it onto the site. Hell, I'm as guilty as anyone with my ideas alone being Australia, Narnia, LOST, Hawaii, Golf Course, GodStorm and Atlantis.

In the end, it's all just my opinion and isn't that what we're here for? Besides dominating the World I mean. :P

I don't know if anyone has said this yet, but the map is way too linear, can only really attack up and down... not much strategy allowed...

It has been said before and I'll say it again.
Qwert, its way too linear. Have you not had enough bad feedback on this map yet? I think this map is a lost cause for you. Focus your efforts on your eastern front map.

... OK, my bad.

... I should have said that it's too linear, and it probably would be so for most.

... It's historically accurate? Well that is a plus.

... I'd give it a go, but Qwert, I don't think this map will make it past "management review". [-X

So qwert, is the nile meant to be impassable? You would assume so, but that would make the map impossible to play because the two halves couldn't access each other. Add in some bridge connections so we can comment on what works and what doesn't.
