World 2.1 REVAMP

I think that world 2.1 needs a revamp but I am not the person to do it. I implore anyone to go forth and make this map all the better...

I disagree. the map is a classic now, in its own right... you want to make another one go for it...but dont tread on her

i beg of you....and will be its biggest, and most annoying advocate

the only thing that would be cool, is there is a problem around senegal with click maps... it might be click maps..i have no idea...but something is off center or something

Clickies also give me grief if I'm attacking egypt from sudan, I keep getting the "You can't attack Levant from Sudan, you dipshit" pop-up.

But otherwise, I'm with fitz. Let's leave well enough alone with 2.1. It's not the prettiest map, but it's far from the ugliest.

That map is (I think) the only one which uses vector graphics, and so it can be scaled infinitely. That makes it the only good prospect for a map you can print out and play at home. Since the cartographers don't draw maps like that these days, a revamp would kill that idea.

It is only scalable from the original document file (in this case Adobe Illustrator). Yes it is true that Zim did make it using vector graphics but the output was a raster based image (as are all CC maps).

Zim did post his illustrator file so you could use that but you would need the software.

Also some other maps have been done in Illustrator as well
    Great Lakes (75%)
    Indochina(80%)
    Montreal(60%)
    Rail USA (80%)
    Arms Race(80%)
    USA Map Pack (99%)
The percentages mean that much of the map is vector based and can scale infinitely. The rest is texture and/or other raster based graphics.

I agree, the only reason I posted this is because of how hard it is to use some of those tiny little territs all crammed together...

I've lost interest in the brazil map. I'm going to find it hard to finish it. I keep saying I will.... but man it's tough.
