Read what exactly? Whilliam wants to know what it is that makes you thing the cult leader have investigative powers. We can't find that info anywhere. The description of the role simply say:

Blue Cult Leader: During the day you act like a normal citizen, but at night you will select one player to recruit to your cause. Should a 'Red Cult Leader' pick the same player, YOU will gain the recruit. Should a 'Green Cult Leader' pick the same player, GREEN will gain the recruit. Should all 3 pick the same player, said player will be killed.

Not anything about investigating.

Why would you vote for him if you didn't want him lynched. He had already claimed and was clearly not going to give out any useful info. Trying to absolve yourself of blame?

First you try to increase suspicion of someone who is supposedly town. Then you make a thingly veiled attempt to defend drench. This last part doesn't many anything unless drench comes up cult though.

I don't know how good of a case this is, but he wanted to know why I found him suspicious and this is it.

I'll admit I haven't been saying much as I should, but I really can't get a feel on this game. I always end up saying scummy things if I don't get a general idea of what's going on. Even after re-reading, I'm not so sure, but I may have a few ideas.
Anyways you bring up a good point, cult leaders are most likely going to say little against anyone, mostly making joke posts and the like, after all they can just recruit them during the night if they have no special roles.

Basically, before I get killed, I can only see vanilla townies and people of my own cult color (I started out w/ having a color, but am not cult leader, and am not revealing which cult color I am), it said as far as I could tell, / was an inno.
