would you suggest that i change the shape of the land on the left, or just try stretching it bigger?

i will try that. maybe make the land to the right just fill up most of the empty space, so al of the land just fits together nicely, and all of the territories are bigger.

If you do that i would make sure you save it as a different psd so if people don't like it you could come back to the original.(maybe u already did that)

just a thought

you don't have a separate .psd for every version? is it just me? 8-[
anyway zep i think doing this will take the map into not much more to offer graphically status. of course with this gameplay discussion will be for a while, but keep at it ;)

thank you, i hope once i clear up the space distribution, we can get this moving foward. right now in my eyes the most controversial matter will be the gameplay.

I just meant make it so that you can change it back if you needed to(no, i don't make new psd's for all versions).

Also i agree that this can not advance much farther graphically and with new borders and maybe a new arrangement, it could open up a whole new gameplay discussion

ok, so this is the new version with the reshaped land mass on the right. I moved the boats to the left to try to even out the clutteredness. Hope you enjoy
v22

changes:
    1. changed shape of land mass to the right
    2. moved boats to the left
    3. added a boat next to the words "Pirate Armada
    4. minor graphic changes
feedback?

Looking good LZ.

* The main problem I have with this map is the contour of the land. They just look like blobs and not islands. It looks like your already adjusting the borders (from some previous posts). While you're at it, why not add messy up the borders a bit also. And add some little off shore islands just to spice it up.

* Also, I don't like the ships in that orangy creamy color. They should be black. The same color as the map title "Treasure Map" and the bonus region names. A pirate would have used the same ink well to draw that, so the ships shouldn't be so faded. Skulls should probably be black also.

* Colors look great.
* Background looks great.
* Mountains look okay - could be improved upon.
* Have you thought about making the blue "Grendelia" Treasure Island black? Or gray? It might be cool since it's all neutrals and where the treasure is. Maybe replace the blue & the brown colors?

Overall - nice job on the graphics with this. You've come a long way.

thank you, i will play around with the roughness of my borders, I like the islands idea. I will make the ships the same color and opacity as the rest of the writing. As for the color of Grendelia (i may just change to Treasure Island) I will play around with the colors. Thank you

LED

edit: should the islands be a neutral color, or a color of one of the bonuses that they are next to?

Just a heads-up, I don't really remember the last map to get Graphics stamped before Gameplay, so I'd focus on that first. That's to limit changes based on gameplay, which could definitely end up happening here.
You're still missing a period at the end of the riddle.
And what starts neutral at what value?

the roughed up borders look much better - how about doing the same for the Treasure Island - I think those were the most "blobby" from the start.
Nice work on the graphics - the boats look MUCH better than earlier!

i'll roughen up the borders on treasure island, and maybe the green bonus. thanks on the boats, i just forgot i changed the opacity on the large to 50, but the small is still 60 (i'll make the opacity the same).

This map is getting really good!

The riddle needs work, though. Imo it should read:

Ye can't go through the mountains, no, 'round them is the way to go
Head towards X and hurry fast. Hold the treasure and ye win, avast!
A pirate ship be named Juno, which only bombards Black Widow.
The ship has sailed, the die is cast. Good luck to ye all, and win it fast!

I just made up the name Black Widow, it's more interesting. And why can't Night Flight bombard? :?

all ships can bombard

i will try something...

Head towards X and hurry fast. Hold the treasure and ye win, avast!
the mountains are tall and wide the only way through them is to pass by there side
The pirate ships are both powerful and strong, they can bombard treasure cove, south grendelia, and the horn

And capitalize all the territory names, then you should be fine.

ok, thank you i will make those changes.

as for gameplay, what problems do people see with it (if any). Most of the recent comments i have gotten have been about graphics, but now i was hoping for a little more gameplay oriented discussion.

I think you have found just the right boats for this map and should see no more worries from them. I think we now have found unforeseen problems with the small version such as
1. The text is extremely difficult to read
2. The territory names are also extremely difficult to read
I have no idea how to fix it besides making the small map bigger
Great map!As always :D
