here i have to agree with JR (first time ever?^^), it´s usually easy to maintain a 5.0 rating if 50% or more of your games are private. If you look at other high rank players, they usually don´t have 5.0 because low ranked players they played only once gave them 3 stars for gameplay etc. If you want to know if you can hold a 5.0 rating, play more public games against random people and see if you are able to keep the rating or not (imo it´s pure luck if you get in a game with people who give 5 stars for everybody or 3 stars for everybody or really rate by looking at your behavior and gameplay)
of course you can consider this as high society, but in that case comparing ratings with people who play 90% public games is like adding apples to cookies^^ (not sure if this idiom exist in your language) Of course it´s hard to get 5.0, but i think there are more players who would deserve it but lost it due to 2 stars given from a cadet in a public game.
You can make a test: take 10 high rank players at random, look at the ratings they received. Make a list of all players who gave 3/3/3 or less stars. Stop when you have 42 (magic number), then start six 8 player games, invite all these players, but don´t tell them about the intention of that experiment. If you still have 5.0 after, then you really deserve it
