NEW UPDATE!

Version 26

Changes made are:
1. Made Lyonesse 8 and 10 borders clearly defined
2. Updated resolution (correct Nem?) of image, this should solve the edges problem that MrBenn noticed.

Comments please everyone!

All gone a bit quiet here...
Does that mean we're done???

Lol only kidding..

Can we have Comments on the new bridges
and any other tweaks I might be able to fix to get us our graphics stamp

Yes the resolution is sorted... for some strange reason my images were 72dpi.. which is rather rubish!! now 320 dpi.. no idea if it is noticeable in the conversion to png though as the compression may remove it again

New bridges are better, indeed, good job!

The bonus numbers in the minimap still kind of stink, but I'm not exactly sure what else you can do in regards to that.

The black stroke around the continents, in places, looks more defined and prominent than others---but this might be a perspective thing, I'm unsure.

That's some great news there with the bridges!

Yes I see what you mean. There is a slightly thicker line in some places than others, it's barely noticeable though and I do think it is a perspective thing. I don't think Nem will want to play about with that again, it took him ages getting it right last time. But I'll give him a nudge and see what he says.

I actually like the bonus numbers now! I'm not sure what we could do to improve it, but to be honest I wouldn't like to see that change.

Congratulations on your gameplay stamp guys =D>

What software are you using to produce the graphics?

Thanks MrBenn!
Photoshop CS4 is used to do the graphics. Why?

I was asking about the software so I could have a think about suggestions for how to bring the graphics up a level. At the moment the symbols, boats, legend etc don't seem to be fully cohesive, and the map feels a bit disjointed... I'll have a closer look and give some constructive feedback over the next couple of days. ;-)

I have been screwing around with the resolutions(dpi) of the image and have noticed its thrown a few things out a bit as it resized it on me, I may need to re import them to solve the problem!
I will do this Asap and see if that helps.

the whole effect of the map is meant to be almost cartoon(ish) style so it may be that feel that gives it that disjointed feel you mentioned. I quite like it that way, as Atlantis was rumored to be a mish mash of cultures and lifestyles, but thats just me!

I like the general cartoonish of the map---the legend, boats, and bridges even I suppose---are wonderful examples of the cartoonish theme.

The geography of the map says less cartoonish though, as I see it. I'm not sure why, it may be the colors, it may be the texture of the land and the water, but they are more realistic than cartoonish.

What about removing all textures from the islands and just having the different colours? Nem can you look at doing a version with no texture on the islands? Let's see what it looks like.

I'm really not trying to make more work for you both---though I know it seems like it every time I come in! Just as Mr Benn noted---this map has a lot of potential, some of which I think is untapped yet. Keep of the great work you two, I really appreciate your enthusiasim, level headedness, and hard work.

yeah sure andy..... lol

no problem mate, we are interested in releasing a map that is fun to play and looks as good as some of the other maps out there, Prem has a new version which I think effects the cartoon feel on the islands which he should post today if he has time at work

let me know what you think.

Love it, maybe try and clean up the smaller version text a bit, or possibly overlay some land like stuff onto the territories

Will look into that, no idea why it has suddenly gone blurry!

Arrrrgggghhhhhh!!!! I just took the terrain off the islands.
lol
going for a cartoon style and the terrain looks off when its there

The one thing I really need to look at is the borders, not going to move them I'm just not happy with how they look, the sort of border I want to go for is very similar to Land and Sea map just can't get it right. Any ideas / Help ?

LMAO, Seconded! =D>

I prefer the land without the terrain. It adds to the effect we are trying to create.
