I agree, that guide rocks. If you followed those strategies, you would win almost as much as I do.
Didnt help you against me though, did it? I think you even put me on ignore, because you couldnt handle some differing opinions as I recall too. The key to 1v1 strategies however, is to adjust them for the particular drop, map and settings. Some strategies are great on one map, and terrible on others. That is the key to all of them. Sometimes you want to aim for bonuses, sometimes you want to aim for territories. Sometimes you want to attack with everything, sometimes you want to defend. You may need to drop all in one place at times, and others, you need to drop 1's and attack everywhere you can. Its all about the situation, and adjusting it to fit. Unfortunately, the dice will decide whether your strategy is effective alot of the time too. If you drop in one place and lose everything, than you lose, if you drop ones and lose all your attacks, you lose. The key is to play them all the best you can for each setting and map, and over time you will win the most.
You can try to play just one strategy for all maps and settings but it will be a mistake in the end. Those who do not see this will lose and not even know why.
My recommendation is to play the bigger maps, because it will give you far more time to actually apply strategy, and adjust for luck, bad drops, and going second. My personal favorite is World, because while some games are decided on the first turn, its size, especially with the correct settings allow for tiny moves and decisions to add up to an overall effect, of counteracting the bad luck.
