Account Sitter Question

Postby Supermarioluigi on Wed Jul 08, 2009 9:15 am

So, I recently just got back from a vacation.

It was rather a surprise to me, so I had to rush to get an account sitter because I was in mutiple tourney game at the time (with more to come)

I posted in the clan I am in, because I felt I could trust my clan more than random people.
However, it appears that my sitter did not do his job.

I deadbeated, and almost got kicked out of another tourney which was starting.
Now, I know I can't get back into that game I got deadbeated from, but I'm curious as to what I can do about this...isn't it like some sort of abuse?

NO.... Find a trusted sitter....... Have you no pards? What I do is actually have 2-3 lined up.. That way someone will keep track of the games...... A good plan is to have your sitter in a team game with ya. That way they will play it cuz they don't wanna lose.

Wouldn't this be a multi situation?

Account sitting is allowed within some restrictions, being a team mate in a team game does not breach those restrictions.

where are these restrictions?

one person playing as two players sounds just like multi to me.

It's not considered cheating to have someone baby sit your account as long as you are not their opponent in any of the games. This is not having a multi, it is helping out someone who will not have computer access for a little bit.

The Help Page wrote:You can, with the stipulation that the account babysitter is not your opponent in any current game. It is common courtesy to announce in game chat that another player will take your turn(s) during your absence. Babysitters should only do what is necessary to take the turn(s) and should not interact with the community, start or join new games (except for ongoing tournaments). Furthermore, you should only take another player's turn if they are in danger of missing a turn, not for the purpose of gaining a tactical advantage.

I understand what you are saying about not being opponents but being on the same team and in control of two players sounds like a massive advantage to me.
