For shits and giggles I just ran a map rank on the top 20 on the Leaderboard.porkenbeans wrote:porkenbeans wrote:Fab. wrote -
You're still too DENSE to understand what I just said. Noob Farmer/Point Hoarder doesn't mean ANYTHING. What matters is the number. You can be an equalitarian and have 1000 points, and all it meant is that you played other people still at 1000. Thus it means jack - something you apparently can't comprehend because you didn't address my point.
Here's an example. Completely hypothetical.
King_Herpes permanent rank has always been 5000. Just for the sake of this situation let's say he started off at 5000. Let's say he will ONLY play people ranked at 2500. Let's say he always wins 4 games and loses 1 right after winning those 4. Thus his score would go up to 5040, then the loss would set him back to 5000. He is in a permanent equilibrium.
Now you have a rank of 2500 and only play other people ranked 2500. You win one game then always lose the game directly after, thus you gain 20 points and lose it right after. You are also in a perfect never ending equilibrium.
Now according to map rank, you are an equalitarian and he is a noob farmer. Your relative rank is 1.00 and his is .500. Who is the better player? Anyone with any brains could analyze the situation and figure out that the person that wins 4 games and loses 1 is superior to the person that plays the same skill level and wins 1 loses 1.
The reason I said map rank's relative rank was flawed, which it IS, is because it can't possibly process when your ascension in rank happened. It just gives out facts about your overall games. Thus if I started a new account, was at 1000 points, played 1000 games, lost EVERY single game to a brigadier and had 1 point total then realized "well even though I can't beat this brig, I'm better than sergeants and stuff." This player with 1 point begins to farm other people. He gets good at it, and wins 100% of his games, and on his way up most of the players still have 5x his score. So he continues farming, and eventually he gets so good at farming he reaches the score of 5000. What happens? Does his relative rank say noob farmer? NO. It shows him as playing people ranked like 2890390x his score. It shows him as having possibly the BEST relative rank on this site. Even if it only included wins, you could still apply the same concept of a person who played at equilibrium vs cadets when he was a cook by winning maybe 1/3 of his games, then somehow got good enough to farm.
Thus don't pull out random statistics like you are trying to claim your equalitarian actually means something, when it merely shows you STILL PLAY LESSER RANKS THAN KING_HERPES.

Please read the post before you respond to it. You may find that I am agreeing with you on some of your issues. Please re-read my last post, I clearly said that Your average map rank only gives you information. It does not tell you who is the best player. It does tell you if a player is playing most of their games against lower or higher ranked players. If you were to look at two capt. with similar scores, and one had a map rank of Noob Farmer, and the other had Glad. Tell me from that info., who is the better risk player ? Both have the same score, but one plays against lower, and one plays against higher ranks. Like I said before, MAP RANK IS A TOOL. It is NOT the leaderboard.
It does allow you to go through the leaderboard and rate players by not only their points.

That is why my stats are,as they are. But instead of crowning me as the best, I would suggest that take a look at Fruitcake and Seulessliathan. Now that is IMPRESSIVE. I would put them way before me, ...and you.

Only 2 of them are EQ.
Seulessliathan
Fruitcake
These two in my opinion, from studying the stats., are most likely the best players, at this moment in time.
The other 18 would need to play a few, or some, may need to play a lot of games with top ranks, to bring their map rank up to an EQ.
Some may only have to bring up their score on a few maps, because they only played it once, and the opponent was low rank. Win or loose, his map rank for that map is "Noob". So, it would only take a game or two to bring that m.r up to an EQ.
So, I have no doubt that a few of those other 18, could bring their M.R up to EQ. But the rest are actually inferior players and Multi-cheats'.
Instead of trying to raise their map scores, A lot of them are blasting the map rank tool.
Killing the messenger will not fix your problem.
I would suggest that you simply try to raise your map scores. If you know how to play, you should not have too much trouble. Look at Seulessliathan and Fruitcake. If however you cant hang with the big boys, Then you should just accept your true place on the leaderboard.
We'll never know unless one day we bumb into each other with a Risk board at hand and exchange the courtesy of sitting down to hack out a game. As for who's better at CC, well I wouldn't say neither one of us are better than the other. I can tell you that I played a hell of lot more settings than he'll ever choose to play and maps as well. Even before I farmed and started fishing with dynamite(playing noobs without CM). However, you seem to like that guy and I see you two gravitating closer towards each other with every post. Maybe you'll get married and teach your children that it's okay to have two dads but not to drop your Map Rank ratios.porkenbeans wrote: Which one of these players has more skill at playing "RISK" ?
Actually, I pointed out that there are only two in the top 20 with EQ. status. I would say that both are the best out of this group. I may be wrong. Maybe you are the best. I invite you to come back from the dark side and prove it. All you need do is raise your M.R. to EQ. If you could pull that off, Then I and others would consider you among the best, along with Fruit and Seul.King_Herpes wrote:We'll never know unless one day we bumb into each other with a Risk board at hand and exchange the courtesy of sitting down to hack out a game. You will not be #1 probably. But if you could stay in the top 20, you would honestly be able to lobby for your superiority. ...Just think of all those words that folks would have to eat. Me included.
You would be able to say that you are the best Farmer and best risk player.

did you mean PUTZ? as in the yiddish word for a fool or an idiot? or perhaps you meant
it in the more base manner of the word. which is slang for c*ck or just an obscene term for penis?
or are you two going to have a putt putt golf off? that would be cool.. anyway, i'm just confused by
the golf terminology...-0

I think it would be a cool thing

hehe there are loads of players at the top who do that... although of course Hulmeys post regarding points is valid!
The guys who reach Conqueror do have to be very careful about their points but anyone who has been there will beat you (you in particular) 9 out of 10 in almost any style..... oooooh could we set that up please!? who has the balls to Silence THE ARMY !?
