The worst map on CC

Well I consider that the maps on CC are fantastic except for 1 which is Dust Bowl. This map is hideous. The reason after the drop you lose troops :shock:

, it should be coded so that deployment is not on an area where you lose troops on the first turn. It's the only map like this on CC and if I had to vote, this would be gone... This thread is for people to vent on which map they consider to be the worst.

I was considering starting a thread on which maps are the best but there are so many. So if you feel like I do about Dust Bowl, let me know. If you haven't played on this map don't bother. I have played it twice, once in a tourney and just now as a random map. I think CC knows this and places it at the top for random maps.

um, dust bowl is great. there are other maps on the site that you lose troops in the same manner... it is a wonderful little historical reminder of a very hard time in american history... if you aren't smart enough to deploy/move troops about in a manner to negate the effect of the dust bowl, perhaps you shouldn't play the map. anyway, dust bowl is a great map, you just don't know what you are doing...-0

I agree! In fact it was my favourite map for a while. The losing troops thing isn't really an issue if fortifications are unlimited, it's an extra part of the strategy to make sure you have a bordering territory. And it makes it more fun trying to defend your continents! In my opinion, one of the best maps on CC.

There are others I haven't played yet, because I don't think that I'd like them, like the Rail's, or the Egypt series.

Interesting, couple of votes for Dust Bowl. Historically yes, brilliant concept. I just don't like losing troops from the drop. Which map do you most dislike and why? I was expecting maybe Classic because of the graphics. At least Dust Bowl has decent graphics.

Crossword is just ugly.

As for Dust Bowl, I don't like it, because you can drop on places that lose men first turn, and no other map is like that. Yes, men can die, but you can't drop places that die (see; AoR2, Oasis)

I enjoy dust bowl, though you can get unlucky with the drops. That is true with any map, but magnified a great deal when all of your territories start decaying. Just the same, I think the map plays very well and was a good (unique) addition. The fact that every bonus region contains a decaying territory was an original thought, and it is fun since they are all border territories.

I am not very fond of Age of Merchants and I've never given crossword my time because I don't think it deserves such attention

AOM IMO is a very fun map (plus I'm an AOM tournament champion). Crossword is a very fun map to play as well it just looks shitty (that map definitely needs to be updated).

I do agree that you can wind up with some unfair drops with dust bowl, but that aside not only are the graphics nice but the gameplay is really solid and unique as well.

If I were to pick the worst map on cc, strictly from a gameplay perspective, I would choose Poker Club.

I've found that any map that I play enough I start to like. I still can't stand usa. Seems so unbalanced. It just irritates me. A little iffy on usa apoc too. I'm kind of tired of fuedal. And I don't like big maps. world 2.1 is just annoying. Oh and Draknor, how irritating.

world and great lakes are kind of the same. I don't think theres more skill in bigger maps like a lot of people do. I think its just more armies, more clicking, and a longer game. Playing world 2.1 just annoys me. Its the same as playing 3 games on classic.

I had a very bad experience with Chinese Checkers early on when I was new. In a 6 person standard game, 4 deadbeated. The other guy proceeded to beat me down in a long, protracted fashion after I was boxed in by neutrals.

Perhaps I would like it if I played with some more active people.

City Mogul is the worst because it is functionally a farming map.

Other cruddy maps include Draknor, USA Apocalypse, Oasis and more.

City mogul is very original. You can call any map a farming map if people don't know how to play it. When people get used to it, it won't be a farming map anymore. Anyway, its a compliment to a map maker to tell them that they made an original map; with different game play. I love france and canada, but let's be honest they aren't that much different from classic.

Pearl Harbor, it is so unbalanced. A really great idea, but it is hard to play a game where you start only getting 3 a turn and your opponent get like 10.

I think it depends what sort of game you play - e.g. making reinforcements "adjacent" makes playing New World or a few others very frustrating. Maps with few territories don't sit well with large numbers of players, team or otherwise, the drop becomes too important. I once played Circus Maximus "standard" and "no cards", there seemed to be no reason to use up your armies eliminating another player if it would weaken you.

Indochina always topped by my list as one of the more deplorable maps on Conquer Club---and I think it still is from a general gameplay stand point.

Ireland is sometimes near my bottom---not fan of the color choice, though gameplay isn't too bad.

Luxembourg and Malta I was never too fond of either...

And Rail Australia, from a visual graphics stand point.

City Mogul and Pearl Harbor are most unbalanced, CM cause of freestyle and whoever goes 1st

If pearl harbor ever gets more balanced it would be a great map, city mogul can go right in the trash can.

Thankyou all for an honest opinion, It looks like Mogul is in front at the moment. Some very experienced players have voiced their opinion on this one. We all have many favorites, King Herpes maybe hasn't read this thread, I think he likes Mogul. Butt I could be wrong. :lol:
