Ronc.

You honestly think they don't care?

You honestly think telling someone there work "sucks" will be constructive?

I bet you get defensive when someone tells you that you suck? True or not.

If ya don't like a map DON'T PLAY IT.

You won't see me walking the City Mogul halls or a 1/2 dozen others.

Did you even offer any constructive advice?

These people do put alot of effort and thought into these maps. Just cuz you don't like it doesn't mean others won't.

I for one am going to continue playing Austerlitz. Not for the pretty colors but for the different game play it offers. My fav maps get boring at times. It's nice to have variety.

Or should CC go with one map that all of us like? Now that would be fun........

truth be told jefjef,
i have worked in the car business, and the bar business. they dont sugar coat shit there. if i buy a 911, and it is a painted up whore with a bad carfax, and needs 5000 dollars worth of work in the shop to sell it, they dont sit me in a room, smile, give me a coke, and tell me it will be ok. they dont care if i looked it up on black book, mmr, nada, and called 5 other porsche dealers to get a number on it.

they tell me i fucked up, and i accept it. i understand if we lose 5 grand on the car i am responsible for 2500 of it.

if i have a full bar of customers, and some hillbilly at the end of the bar has his busch on the bar for 10 minutes, and i dont see it cuz my eyes are fixated on some blondes tits in front of me that i am trying to get to stay late night whilst deciding which breast would be better to hoot a rail off of, right or left, he doesnt politely offer constructive criticism by saying: ron, i understand that blondes c cups look great, and if i was in your position, i would be doing the same thing, btw, could i get that beer now?

he screams across the bar that i would make a good hood ornament on his '87 dodge ram, and that i got a perty mouth.

i dont bullshit, and i dont hold peoples hands while getting my point across. i call a spade a spade. if you dont like it jefjef, foe me! it is that simple. your boy draq did it. i aint skeeered.

i think the map sucks. i said it. i still think it does. i think the map making process needs to be overhauled. big time! and it seems others feel the same way! if we all dealt with things the way you do, what a boring world we would live in.

do you think mike ditka sat jim mcmahon on the sidelines after an interception, and patted his back, and said everything will be ok on the next set of downs? i dont think so.

And okay, getting up to 300 maps isn't the answer either.

I still think maps need to be made, vacationing maps isn't a good idea. Being diverse is one of CC's strengths. Continuing the status quo might be the best here then with an addition... the community NEEDS to be more involved with the Foundry. Simple as that.

Wrong...the foundry needs to be more involved with the community.

Ideas? Enlighten me.

there was a thread about this very thing in the foundry, which was derailed by foundry regulars because all of the non-foundry goers didn't know what they were talking about. at the end of the day, the powers that be moved the foundry up the forum board, dropped the GD down, and thought this was the way to increase traffic to the foundry... brain trust. again, i have stated that mr. benn is making genuine efforts to get the community involved and i have been visiting there more regularly. i am not sure what the answer is on how to get the community more involved with the foundry, but it needs to happen so things like germany 2 and austerlitz don't happen..-0

Just because someone does not like a map does not mean no one else does either. What is so hard to understand about that.

I don't like City Mogul and a 1/2 dozen others. Should I start a thread about that?

As far as map contribution go visit the forum and CONTRIBUTE. Not all ideas are gonna be accepted. As to be expected. But many are. They have polls. They have map updates. They do listen.

Bottom line is if you don't like a map you are NOT forced to play it.

I and others will still play Austerlitz and Germany2. But will not play others that some hold in high esteem. Just like spoils. We have a variety and choice. It's a good thing.

5 stars to those who share their talents with us for our ENJOYMENT.

I know, I've seen it and I know MrBenn has ideas and things he wants to do with the Foundry. I've seen some extreme ideas in the Foundry, like forcing players to comment on maps in development before they can play their turns.(bad idea) And that idea was dismissed for a number of obvious reasons. Just because the Foundry is higher up doesn't mean it will be clicked on. It can't be in your face forcing a comment either. This is the internet if you don't want to do anything you just click on the next link, and you do what you want to do.

We can scream back and forth at each other saying "you need to be more involved with us!!" It does no good, it is too easy to just do something else. Folks have to WANT to be involved, and there should be a more inclusive atmosphere in the Foundry. You can't say there hasn't been movement towards those goals, there are more maps in development now then have been in a long time and many of them new mapmakers.

Then my question to everyone is this: What would make you WANT to comment on maps?

No Bruceswar. the number of games will not grow in a year...that is failed logic.
It would be true if every person had the same tastes and preferences that created the previous condition of growth.
But that is not the case with choice. People have different reasons for chossing games at particular times.
Some like to dabble around the board.
Some like to concentrate on a game at whatver level to win a medal.
Some like certain maps for team games.
Some like certain maps for visual appeal.
Some like certain maps for battle tactics ability.
Some like to start off in CC playing the simple maps
Some like to put word around that a certain map is crap and therefore others are influenced by peer say-so, and that one is a very strong reason.
But not everyone likes the same map as everyone else all of the time for the same reasons.
To this, your idea that the number of maps or games played on a map should grow over a year, is total falacy I'm sorry.

The point I am making is a map such a Germany should have tons of appeal. It has tons going for it, including great game play, which is the most important thing. There always used to be certain types of games open such as team games, but now you see few to none. Why is that? Most people have simply stopped playing the map. It is the way the people of CC vote. They either play the map or not. Your point would be valid if the map was an odd map or if it has just came out, and everybody wanted to try it, but it was neither of the 2. So with that said Germany 2 can be marked as possibly the biggest failure in the foundries history. People were pissed about British Ilse 2, and Brazil 2, but both of those maps are still being played. In Fact many have grown to embrace those maps now. Australitz will go down as a another failure once the dust settles. I thought this map could have been done so much more with. Sure every map has a place, but not every map should be released.

OK, i understand, but perhaps players were waiting or still are waiting for the revamp to occur. that might explain why the map play numberS have dropped off. Who knows!? :)

I actually find it to be a very fun map. It just looks like shit and could use a re-vamp (hopefully not Germany style).
