Now that the game is over (and formerly winless New Mexico beats down CSU), I will root for TCU for a BCS bowl (and hopefully the NC) and Wyoming to beat the sheep take home the Bronze Boot.

Go pokes! And I agree TCU deserves a spot in the National picture, I'm also hoping Nebraska's defense shuts down the longhorns and plays the spoiler.

While that would be great fun (my wife is the biggest Cornhusker nut you'll ever meet), it's just not gonna happen. Well, the defense might play that part actually...but the offense will help Texas score enough.

One can always hope, can't they?

I love the Texas haters on here. It feeds me...

The game you should be watching out for though is Auburn and Bama

IT's a rivalry game so yeah. It would be funny to see all three of them lose to their rivals (Alabama, Texas and Florida) and the turmoil it causes in the BCS, maybe for fun trhow Boise and TCU into the upset mix too however I think that all three probably get through this week relatively unscathed.

While there's plenty of upset potential in these matchups,
TCU hosting New Mexico isn't one of them.

Oklahoma almost did it with a backup QB. Nebraska pummeled Oklahoma compared to what Texas did. Anything is possible.

On a side note, I'm a Big 12 hater. I would like to see them out of National Title contention.

I grew up in Wyoming, Iowa and North Carolina so those are the main teams I root for. Iowa being my primary for football.

Also I have a Division 1 tournament that I'm trying to get filled up if anyone is interested, just click the link. http://www.conquerclub.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=90&t=102331

That's actually what makes the biggest and best upsets though when you least expect them. Like say when Ole Miss beat LSU, I didn't consider that an upset because Ole Miss was better than what their record suggested and I also wouldn't consider Arkansas beating LSU an upset the way Arkansas almost beat Florida.

Throughout the Border War years between CSU and UW, upsets abound. One team will be nationally ranked and lose to the other which is really down in the polls. In other words, the Border War is almost always 50/50.

Rivalry games are so full of emotion the momentum can really be a roller coaster ride and in many cases anything is possible. Two weeks ago Louisiana Tech gave LSU fits and for most of the game the Bulldogs passing attack gave the Tigers big problems and the heavy underdogs definitely gave them a big scare. Mississippi is a really good team and the way they handled LSU was no surprise, Ole Miss's romp over the Tennessee certainly was though, considering the way the Vols had stood up to both Florida and Alabama. The SEC is really going to be a tough Conference next year as these young Vols & Razorbacks (and the rest too) gain some experience playing at this level.

Last night the Aggies gave the Longhorns all they could handle and the QB play with 4 TD tosses coming from both sides was superb. That rivalry is huge and the effort from both teams in a tight game wasn't shocking at all. Last time a ranked Texas team visited College Station the underdog Aggies whupped 'em... something I'm sure Texas was well aware of right from the start.

Yeah Texas A & M came close to upsetting Texas. Now on to today. The biggest rivalry game today will be #2 Alabama vs Auburn. Bama has played a lot tougher teams than Auburn and should be able to pull this one out for another undefeated season right before a SEC Championship rematch of last year. Roll Tide Roll!

Going to be a tough conference next year? It's already a tough conference this year...that's what it's like in the SEC you can never just look at the top of the heap cause tehre's always teams down below them with enough talent and grit to spring up and haul you down at any time. Think about it as good as Florida is this year without the officiating being completly biased towards them they could easily have 2 or 3 losses right now and definitely would have already had 1 and as good as Alabama is they have been very lucky to maintain their unbeaten status as well.

I'm jsut hoping they aren't thinking that themselves. Alabama should be considering this their toughest game all season. As they should consider every game they play this season. Let the defense do what they do and put the offense on the shoulders of Mark Ingram and Richardson (with some passes and trick plays to get it into the hands of Julio Jones.) they need to put this game away early.

Close to an upset? Nah... but the Aggies were definitely in it all the way.
It was a classic Longhorn/Aggie brawl.
strike wolf wrote:Going to be a tough conference next year?

Of course it's a tough conference this year, what I mean is a few schools (Ark.Tenn.etc.) are fielding an abundance of freshman with good results and next year should prove to be a whopper. There's been a lot of "catching up" this season which makes me believe next year will be totally unreal. I'm not saying that this year is slack in the least for the SEC and wanted to simply state that from what I've seen next year will be scary for all the high ranks... and there will be no shortage of them coming out of this conference.

My fear for next year is the same thing that has kept the SEC out of the NC in years past. We just beat eacch otehr up so badly that the team that ends up winning it already has 2 or 3 losses and cant make itto the big show.

I agree with Ovo, A&M and Sooner games are always good bouts, just cause its a rivalry. And there especially good one one team has the motivation of beating them and knocking them out of National Title Spotlight.

Nebraska game will be the same.

It's exactly this tough competition that will keep TCU and Cincy
from overtaking the Longhorns in the BCS title hunt.

Of course TCU's final game with New Mexico doesn't help them gain ground
but it's possible that the Bearcats matchup with Pitt will give then a boost.

WOW! Bama surrenders it's first 1st Quarter TD of the year, but
Todd's inability to hit wide open receivers has stalled Auburn drives
and allowED the Crimson Tide to keep it close.
Alabama 26
Auburn 21
FINAL
Bama drives for a TD on their last possession and takes the lead with 1:24 remaining

Wyoming 17 Colorado State 16 FINAL
and the Cowboys are going bowling

now all we need is Auburn to pull it out, and Bama seek its revenge on Florida and we can have a lone star state National Title game provided Cincy doesn't overtake TCU in rankings with that Pitt game

I'd like to think that TCU will hold onto their BCS ranking position
because Cincinnati can score on anyone but lacks the defense.

You wish. At the half

Alabama-14

Auburn-14

Plus Alabama is more of a second half team and will wear Auburn down. We know what to expect now.

And his ability to not hold on to the ball. ;) Too bad Woodall's pick got called back due to an Auburn false start. They only scored because of Woodall's unsportsman like conduct. Other than that we are starting to outplay Auburn and are starting to wear them down.
