The invite feature is fantastic.

Also, I don't even see fewer public games as a problem - doesn't it mean that supply and demand are fairly in sync? People who want more (public) games can easily create them, and they will probably fill relatively quickly as there aren't pages and pages of them waiting for players now.

I don't get all these complaints. If you have a problem with the available games, just start your own games. It's that easy.

That would be fine EXCEPT that when you "just start your own games" someone comes in and invites all their mates to play against you......which would be fine but, your team is a completely random group of people and theirs is team that is used to one another....I just liked it when the whole public thing was just that....public. It made things more interesting.

3 things of note

1) If you are a good to better player, then you do not want lots of randoms. You want people you can count on not to miss or make totally terrible plays.

2) Invites will roll in daily from friends and other teammates. You will have plenty of games to join / play.

3) If you truly like random teams join vs some randoms with a game open, but I cannot see why someone would like truly random teams.

There is not a day that goes by where I do not have some sort of invites in my PM box. It comes with the territory. Anyhow who wants to play lots of random noobs. That is how it used to be and I am glad it is not like that anymore.

i start 45 at a time, and join about 15 publics at a time. my ratio is: i make 75 percent of my games prolly.

i invite 35 games, and keep an eye on who joins the other 10.

sometimes the person who joins the game will throw you for a loop. in fact, i am playing in a great battle right now that was unexpected. i guess i am high right now. but what i am tring to say is that i mix it up. and i like having the invite button. it is tough to wait for people online.

i have also been rotating the 4th alot lately. switching from great player to great player.

I like the invite feature because I can setup a game with a partner and he/she doesn't have to be online when I make it. I don't care if I end up playing the same people several times. Its not always the same, although I do have some regulars. That's cool, I figure that both sides will get better playing each other over and over.

ps If you want different teams, make different maps. I've found that I see a lot of the same people joining my france games. However, I get different regulars on poland or space or whatever.

Dude, what? I'd say that 80% of the people on my friends list came from me randomly joining a team game when I first started, liking the team play, and then becoming "regulars." I have to believe this is the case for most people.

As far as creating random games, I've noticed that when I do start a game without inviting regular partners, my team will fill with good players that I know or have played with before, they just aren't exactly regular teammates. It's not like starting a game and waiting for a random team spells death. We managed before.

When I first started this thread, I'm not sure I got across what I wanted to say, but my main bitch was this:

It's not the same players I have a problem with, it's the same team. Most regular teams have a particular style that you can notice in the game. When you play the same team over and over, their style only changes as it adapts to yours, if at all, and you already know your style, obviously. The game becomes pretty predictable and the outcome is purely just a matter of dice. You don't learn anything new from the game. That was my point, that each game against the same team becomes increasingly boring. For me, at least.

I'm not expecting, nor do I want CC to overhaul the site just to satisfy my whims, I was just wondering if the way I felt was common, or if I just get bored easily.

i get bored of blowjobs from the same girl all the time.

it is way too predictable. i know she will want to lob my balls in her mouth after about 3 and a half minutes of full force face fucking......so yes, i understand what you mean fenrir.

@ master...... This is what I mean by joining randomly...

Game 6074714 Join team 1 or 2... I bet you do not get people you know...

Game 6074128 join team 2... and see who joins with you... likely not high ranks... or join team 1 if you can stomache it

Game 6072551 another example...

I could go on and on... but what is the point of joining with low ranks or random people. Yeah sure some of us came up through the ranks playing mainly team games, but there are others, who never played team games until late in CC like. Like me, I never played until I was a colonel. It took me all of about 5 mins to find good partners.

Edited to add remember team games are nothing more than a big friends network. You play well with one and you will get asked into more games with others.

I should add before the invite system, most of us would use PM's, MSN, Yahoo or something to help setup games. Now it is just much easier.

Hmmmmm very interesting. Something i notice, about the public team games, is that quite a few of the Quad games (and a lot of Klobber's games) always make it to the first page. That's where new and low ranks usually first look. I remember when i first joined, i almost got deterred from coming back, because i was quite annoyed of only seeing the huge amount of quad games. But i was lazy lol But i'm sure i am not the only one deterred because of the games you always see on the first page

I sometimes think the whole "join a game" button should be disabled from new recruits. That would teach them to use the game finder right from the start.

I like the invite feature myself as it "guilt's" GreatWhite into inviting me to a couple of his team games, so I can bring his score down some before his head gets to big. :)

Why not put in a disable button in game setup. You could mark the game as public and no one would be allowed to put an invite in. Would give you the best of both worlds in my opinion.

Greatwhite wrote:The 'invite' add on is making for in-breeding, I liked just starting a game before and seeing who joined my team and having new team mates. Now I feel I have to invite buds I've played with before to avoid the game being hijacked with deadbeats and newbies without a clue.
I also enjoyed cruising the team games other people started, it made for more diversity than now.

I bet you would have more diversity if you removed the 90% of the players that spank your ass from your ignore list. Unfortunate that GW joined one of my games not too long ago-- same result ass woopin.... but it just depends on what you prefer. A lot of diversity or a lot of ass woopin'. If it's both remove players from your ignore list but please keep me on--- I've already gotten my uds from you and farming isn't allowed anymore. ;)

My biggest pet peeve about the invite ffeature is if time expires on the invite and you're sitting with 2 players on a full game and then a random joins.
