In fuedal if you are going to take a village, don't take just the bare minimum of territories to get you to that village, or your opponent will know where you are.

Forenote: This is something I sent to a friend a little while back, you might find it useful. :)

Hey!

I don't know how much experience you have, so sorry if I'm a bit patronising at first! I'll show you what I'd do, and some of the basics of a feudal game. :) Refer to the map image right at the bottom for info!

You probably know each player starts with one Castle (Barbarians/Imperial Dynasty/Realm of Might/The Great Kingdom/Feudal Empire/Rebel Territory), and the objective is to link all the castles by conquering them all (not likely at all, not really recommended), or by eliminating all the other players by raiding their castles. If it's a 1 vs 1 game, then each player will start with 2 castles instead.

As far as strategy is concerned, on the opening turn, deploy on your castle (+6 auto-deploy!), and take all the 2s in your "realm". This may take a turn or two, but don't worry if you get crappy dice, because you're protected by the 10s. You get a +1 bonus for holding two of the 2s in your castle realm. :) Once you have them all, start to form a stack in your realm. Once you're strong enough, you can break out and attack a 10. Once you're "out", you can do a few things. The villages, Rhu, Yer, Fol, give a +3 bonus auto-deploy. These are good if you are playing on unlimited forts because you can collect the +3 each turn and move it to your bigger stack (to be used for raiding other players castles :D). On adjacent, it's not recommended to take villages unless you have no risk of getting attacked.

Tips:
1) If you're playing with cards, then you should consider leaving one territory un-conquered which is non adjacent to your castle and bombard it for easy spoils. This cannot be done on the Realm of Might castle, unforunately.
2) On unlimited forts playing 1 vs 1, you might get lucky and start with two castles which are close to each other (for example, Feudal Empire and Rebel Territory). You can break out after a while and link up your castles, and then use the +5 auto deploy to create a massive stack for raiding castles.
3) If you waste yourself too thin attacking your 10s and weaken them and yourself, then you're pretty easy to raid for cards/points. Try not to attack 10s if you are at risk, so build up a nice stack to prepare to assault them.
4) If you start with a Castle such as Rebel Territory or The Great Kingdom, you can break out and attack the 1s everywhere, for free region count, and more troops in the end. Remember to not leave yourself defenceless though!! :D

Have fun, let me know of any more questions, please! After a few games you'll definitely get the hang of feudal, it's not too hard.
