Also, some interesting tidbits he volunteered to me about himself when I asked about his life:

OK, sweetcheeks - I was not a mere police officer, I was a mortar battery commander in the Wachregiment Feliks Dzierzynski, or the Felix Dzerhinsky Watch Regiment as they say in English. We were a popular humanitarian relief organization in the DDR much loved by all of the people in the farmers and workers paradise. We did, however, often cooperate with the Volkspolizei (the People's Armed Police) in stopping warmongers, racists and capitalists who sought to spread discord and negativity.

I was also a member of the Socialist Unity Party, though, my brother was in fact a democratically elected member of the Volkshammer (parliament) from the Democratic Farmers' Party, which was one of 5 political parties in the former East Germany. He still lives in Germany, though I'm in the US now.

I'll admit that I'm not overly familiar with the inner workings of Eastern Germany, but from what I can see the things he's mentioned are real. Many of the people involved with them are undoubtedly still alive and I don't think it's such a huge stretch to think that some of them have internet access. People do shit over the course of their lives...

Basically what I'm hearing is that he says he was an officer of some kind in Eastern Germany. Saxi could be making up his involvement but I'm not sure why he would. Believe it or not, the two of us got along pretty well.

Felix Dzerzinhsky died in 1929. It's 2010. That was 81 years ago. Perhaps Saxi's unit was named after that Communist freedom fighter. However, based upon Saxi's prior contributions to this forum, I'm going to err on the side of caution and assume he just pulled up wikipedia (like I did) and read all about Eastern Germany (like I did).

Based on this thread, I would not be surprised in the least to hear that he highly enjoys your relationship together.

Believe it or not, I get sick of arguing. There are a number of writing projects I've been working on which have been significantly more rewarding than posting here..

There are a few threads I'm still considering whether or not to respond to, but I'm probably not going to be spending as much time here.
