Eh, I realized that this question leaves for so many "what if"s.

Who's invading? Nazis? Canadians? Are they democratic? Freedom of their people? WHY are they invading? Is my family in danger? If my city (or country) eventually won and I didn't fight, would they harass me until I left the country? Et cetera, et cetera, et cetera and so forth.
Doesn't matter. The nationalism question is about the country's problem, so there's going to be a draft. Lots of people are going to come back in body bags, are you down?

I would let them in, then be an insurgent.

I think maybe the question should be more like "would you fight for your city?" Because, while I certainly would not die for my country or city or state, I would certainly fight for any of the above.

Hell no. I'd move to another city.

That's a good point, but how many Armed Forces in the world want their recruits to fight and well maybe not die for their country/city/state? You know the "if it gets a little tough, you're excused from class/battlefield" kind of deal would be a great selling point, but could never happen.

No nationalism for one's country included in this question. Only your city's well-being.
It's a straight-up question. Huge invading army, city must defend itself, and its left to its own devices pretty much. So, it's up to you to go fight and defend your "motherland."

Will you? Or will you not?
yep i will fight, but in old PArtisan style-hit and run, because you can not defeat huge invading army with charge, and its best to step back, and alove to your opponent take city, and then you can kick one by one. This strategy its show very succesfull. ;)

I must say that you need to change your tittle--Would you fight for your City?-

so basically ALL of you live in a city?

the nearest city (or what would count as a city to most Americans I guess) to where I live is about 50 km... for an American that distance would mean nothing, but in li'l Belgium that's already a long way lol I'm actually pinned betwee three of the largest cities in the country, so I would have to choose one as "my" city first

but I wouldn't die for it if it was only that city which was being attacked

I don't live in a city, I live in the middle of 3 cities, all of them about 10-15 miles away.

My, my, what a debacle!

Surely, if y'all simply took the initiative to replace the word "city" with "town, village, or hamlet," then nothing devastating or disastrous would happen.
