New Recruits in Waterloo

Postby cpurcell on Thu Jan 28, 2010 11:03 am

I'm just curious, aren't new recruits blocked from playing on the waterloo map? Because one just joined my game...

Why are they blocked from playing it? Just wondering... and if it is true (I'm assuming it is) then it was probably a bug of some sort? That's the only explanation i can think of...
btw for all who wants to look, it is Game 6357176.

I believe they are blocked from playing the more complicated maps because it's considered unfair for them.

I didn't post it in bugs because I'm not actually sure that they're blocked from that map...

Anyhow, much to all of your disappointment, he lost. I'm still curious however how he got into a game, and if nrs are actually blocked. Anyone else have any insights?

The list of maps they are blocked from doesn't include Waterloo, does it?

No Waterloo, so it remains a mystery - maybe there's something like you can invite new recruits to restricted maps 8 player games etc??

I'm fairly certain you can invite people to maps that would normally be restricted to them. Though I'm sure thats not the case here as it wouldn't be much of a mystery how he got in if he were invited.

I certainly did NOT invite him. Just in case that clears anything up. The game is also not private.

my bad guys, playing with some of my friends who are still new recruits and I invited them to maps that would normally be restricted to them, but we were playing private games, so I'm assuming thats why it worked.
