Best Movie of 2009

What do you think?

I've seen virtually none of the top movies of 2009. I have an aversion to spending $10 to go to the movies when I can watch it in the comfort of my own home 8-12 months later for $5 or less. In any event, I just saw District 9; best movie I've seen since Dark Knight.

6. Avatar (but this really was a 3D theater experience, I doubt it will be the same on video)
7. The Hangover (one of the best comedies in years)
8. Star Trek (it was so awesome)
9. Watchmen (regardless of any criticism, the images were beautifully shot)
10. Inglourious Basterds

I haven't seen most of the others getting lots of attention. I can't believe Moon and Public Enemies have been so thoroughly snubbed by the Academy.

I still really want to see Invictus, The Hurt Locker, Sherlock Holmes, The Fantastic Mr. Fox, A Serious Man, The Blind Side (but only because I read the book), and Precious: Based on the Novel Push by Sapphire.

Also, Defiance was terrible. Total Edward Zwick schlock.

Moon was a hard movie to find. only played at the international theater and was interesting but I felt like I had seen it before. Anyways, I would vote for the Hangover

They all sucked. Particularly Star Wreck and Watchmen.

you should get better theaters, luckily we still have one where its 3$ a ticket and 50 cent small popcorn and drink

of course their is the usual expensive and much larger one about 5 miles away.

Zombieland was one of the best comedies of the year.

Avatar is overrated. Sure the visuals are to die for, but the plot is subpar and predictable. (I liked it better in 2D than 3D)

Inglorious Basterds is one of Tarantino's best movies. I laughed throughout the entire thing.

You'll hate Watchmen if you've read the book. I know I did.

The Informant was a very clever movie. I loved it. Brad Pitt was genius in it.

Hangover was funny, but I don't know why everyone is raving about it.

the hurt locker was a great movie. probably my favorite of 2009, and hopefully the best picture winner. haven't seen avatar, but it looks terrible...

district 9 was also very good
