Just classic. Everyone can play it and didnt see much people drop a bonus in doubles. If not non.

So I will go for the classic old map.

If people both know the maps I think more complicated maps are also just fair like Feudal.

Based on the 1st season of the clan league, British Isles was the most popular "standard" mid-sized map. Feudal was close behind, but I don't consider that standard.

I think it's much too easy to get a good drop in and around the +2 Land's End bonus and secure the win on the British Isles map. So I think I'd say Extreme Global Warming for "simple maps", mostly because it has more than one obtainable bonus and a few more regions than Classic.

Agreed, another good map. If you go slightly larger, Iberia is a very good map due to multiple small bonuses of slightly larger size.

Iberia is a nice doubles map.

The new chicago map also seems very fun as a doubles game. Not sure yet about fairness, but at least it's fun.

But go too much bigger and the first player can cripple the second player too easily of course. Iberia is a good choice too. I'd like to throw Siege! into the ring for similar reasons.

Alexander's Empire is really cool for dubs.

Australia is nice as well.

All medium-sized maps are equally fair.

Iberia & Benelux for simple maps.
Lots if you go bigger or more complex.

I suppose circus maximus would technically be the least drop depended. Then again, with no bonuses it's probably the most dice dependent. I think France personally, but that's partly because its one of my favorites. Also because it doesn't have the bottlenecks leading into the key bonuses.
