I was thinking of a treasure island sort of map a while back, but didn't get further than in my head...
Back then, I was wondering if we could add interest/uniqueness by awarding bonuses for controlling all of one type of critical resource (eg: fresh water, fire-wood, hunting grounds, fruit trees) or perhaps, even better, having one of each, rather than geographical areas. Also you could have the most hotly contested territories being the treasure dig site, with a huge bonus, but hard to get hold of because it can be attacked from every side. That way the one who can eventually defend the treasure is more or less guaranteed victory, which would kind of be the point, right?
Does that make any sense at all?
The plot would be a bit different from the book, I suppose: 'armies' of rival pirates gangs, looking to secure the resources they need to find, recover and defend the treasure from the rest...
Maybe this is a totally different map... I just saw the title of the thread and it reminded me, sorry
Oh, and those bunnies, no relation whatsoever!
In fact, they're in a totally different bracket
