FA CUP 5th Round

Man City 1 Stoke City 1

Wright-Phillips.

typical, should of done better than this. missed Tevez and Bellamy.

Rangers 3 Hibernian 0 :D :D

Whittaker, Boyd(pen), Miller.

10 points clear again. should of been a tougher match, but came well in the end

well done Steven Mclean for his 2 late golas to deny "sellick" a win.4-4. :D

Stoke City 1 Man City 1

Barry.

for the 2nd year in a row it looked like we were going to lose 1-0 playing against 10 men. luckily Barry had a 2nd chance that he slotted away and they had a goal dissallowed. :o

anyway up to 4th and Scouse on Sunday.

FA Cup 5th round replay

Stoke City 3 Man City 1 (aet)

Bellamy.

we actually played better than we've played for a while.

Chelsea 2 Man City 4 :D :D  =D> =D>

Tevez 2, Bellamy 2.

fucking brilliant, when we went 1-0 down I thought we would struggle, but equalised pretty quickly. 2nd half we played well and kept out Chelsea fairly comfortable.

can't wait for tomorrow when Rangers wrap up the SPL.

Mad day of football:

Chelsea I think were really unlucky as Tevez's goal came at just the wrong time. Hilario should have done better and if Chelsea went 1-0 into the break I think it would have taken something special to beat them. Full credit to City for winning the match and taking their chances and providing a complete upset.

Forest got demolished at Leicester, we beat Watford so a top 2 finish is almost definite now, just hope we keep the edge of WBA for the remaining games.

Arsenal game was epic. First 15 minutes it was all Stoke and thought they were going to walk it. Arsenal played superbly for the rest and fully deserve the victory (I'm gunna reap the points with Fabregas as my captain), but really awful what happened to Ramsey. Definite leg break imo the players reaction was awful, worse then with Eduardo, and the way the commentators and host were describing the replays makes me think it was one of those where the bone clean breaks. Feal sorry for Shawcross this is gunna hurt him loads but even worse for Ramsey. Great credit to Arsenal about the way they came back, they were threatening goals every minute after the injury, no repeat of the Birmingham match here.

Up until today I had Chelsea down from day 1 to win the league, but I'm seriously inbetween them and Arsenal now. I think Arsenal with the easy run in and the strength they now have, and the anger from today will lead them so well for the remainder. Anyway it happens, a true 3 way title race is going to be awesome viewing.

Poor old Ramsey.....hopefully its not a career ending break. I also dont think it was a red card tackle. Two players stretching for the same ball...accidents happen, and will continue to happen unless you ban all tackling.

Stockport County 4 v Wycombe 3

Stockport were 4-0 up after 60 minutes.......god I hate listening to games on the radio

Saw the replays on MotD, his leg kinda turns to jelly and his ankle bends every which way. Horrible stuff, sucks for him as its going to be many months at least.

I've heard a few people saying this and I really don't get where you're coming from. It is clearly a red card. Any tackle that endangers the safety of an opponent counts as serious foul play and is an automatic red. I think breaking a leg qualifies as endangering ramsey's safety...

Really sad that this has happened to him just as he was breaking into the first team and looking like a real talent. Hopefully he'll recover- eduardo hasn't looked anywhere near the same player since his injury.

Still, unexpected three points and right back in the race :D

You don't get where other people are coming from because you're an Arsenal fan and you don't have a neutral view on the incident.
Football is a contact sport and from time to time accidents will happen.
The foul itself didn't look to be intentionally grievous, it's just that ramseys studs were jammed into the ground and that shit happens from time to time.

I'm sorry for Ramsey, but that's football. I'm sure that there are a load of paraplegic scaffolders, but they don't get on BBC1 on a Saturday night to have their accidents shown on telly.

I don't think there was any intent either. But it's still a red card. Broken leg from the tackle = tackle which endangered safety = serious foul play = automatic red

LAW 12(part of)
A direct free kick is awarded if a player commits any of the following offences in a manner considered by the referee to be careless, reckless or using excessive force:

• kicks or attempts to kick an opponent
• tackles an opponent

A player, is sent off if he commits any of the following offences:
• serious foul play
• violent conduct

Shawcross wasnt guilty of violent conduct....I take this to mean deliberatly kicking, punching or headbutting another person.
Shawcross went into a tackle that he had every right to go in for. He went in, laces showing, to kick the ball. Ramsey, on the other hand, went in with studs showing momentarily. If the timing had been the other way round and Ramsey had been a tenth of a second slower than Shawcross, it could very well have been Shawcross with the badly broken leg.

By what you are saying every mistimed tackle should result in a red card.

But whatever, I hope the lad fully recovers and wish him well

Yep, it was serious foul play

Bullshit. Watch a replay again- Shawcross goes in much harder than was neccessary to win the ball, much harder than ramsey does. I don't think there's some conspiracy to injure arsenal players but it's part of the whole "arsenal don't like it up 'em" thing. Kicking lumps out of arsenal players is the accepted tactic for lower league teams (look at the stats) and injuries like ramsey's are inevitable if refs don't give us more protection. The idea that less protection is needed and putting a player out for potentially a year doesn't deserve a red is ridiculous

Carlos Tevez went back to Argentina to spend some time with his wife and to hold his new baby daughter.
As he gazed upon his sleeping darling daughter, he beckoned his wife to him.
He whispered "She looks nothing like me"
His wife smiled at Carlos and whispered back "Don't worry, I'll go and put the kettle on"
