Yes. I'm find with the judges hand-picked as they are. In my opinion, the other committee should be selected by doing the following:

1) A thread is made in the GD. It explains what the job is and that it will require time, research, and committment. It explains that a committee member nominating his friend BumblyJoe123 won't fly and this is serious bi'ness. The thread is left open for 1-2 days, asking for serious volunteers.

2) The thread is locked/altered or a new thread is started. This thread is a poll with the name of EVERY player who volunteered (depending on how big the polls are capable of getting, I'm not sure). The first post also has them name-linked to thier profile so voters can check out the candidates. Voters should be allowed to cast a few votes, but not many. Say 3?

3) The poll is then left open for some time...maybe even a week for those who only play weekdays/weekends, and then locked.

4) The top twelve vote-recipients become the Nomination Committee.

I think this is backwards. I like that all of CC is involved, but allowing anyone on CC to have the final vote means that someone who can PM a lot of friends to go to the thread to vote will win, and a top player who isn't in a clan and doesn't know many people on CC will lose out every time.

At that point, it just becomes a popularity contest. I like it better the other way around - CC picks the nominees and the jurors then choose who makes the hall.

As I understand it (and I will openly admit that I may be wrong on this), there are 3 ideas currently on the table for the actual selection process (not including selection of jurors or criteria):

1) There is a committee of (12/15) that nominates the potential Hall of Famers, then a second committee of (12/15) that chooses from the nominees who makes the Hall of Fame.

2) There is a committee of (12/15) that nominates the potential Hall of Famers, then a poll is put up to all of CC that chooses from the nominees who makes the Hall of Fame.

3) All of CC can nominate potential Hall of Famers, then a committee of (12/15) chooses from the nominees who makes the Hall of Fame.

Really believe that we would need some input from the admins if we are truly trying to get these "committees" to be right and just. I do respect Blitz's judgement on picking honest and high-standing jurors for this, but feel the public would feel it skewed if it were made entirely of this. I know that Lack and Andy have been around long enough to know some respectable people on this site (such as Wachica mentioned earlier?) that would be able to balance out the decision making process.

Again, we really need to focus on the basics of this before we start appointing positions and throwing nominations out. The criticisms coming out of this are really the best thing for its hopes, as we wouldnt want this corrupted after its put into place. Be sure to mention these things to anyone so more ideas can keep coming in, because as mentioned earlier its not just the forum users that should be subjected to this.

I say a Hall of Fame would be a great idea it's my idea. Here are some of the factors I would say to include:

ok all in CC, I sifted through of my massive pm's...everything about me is massive..., all these posts in this thread, et cetera, etc. this took over an exhausting 9+ hours worth of time...first bit of work I've done in years and over 100 something cc members replied in some form attempting to share ho ho ho...like I'm gonna pay any notice what they deem worthy as being a possible Hall of Famer. I ..have nil respect everyone's viewpoint and want to take everything all have said into consideration then I can dismiss it it out of hand. Scanning through all well you didn't think I would actually read it did you, I took the time to compile a list, this again is a rough draft of your rubbish. and I hope I did not miss anything and I hope I did not miss anything I said, although if I did, please post it to remind me how awesome I am. It may be possible as I started getting tired after awhile Even my sidekick God takes a day off once in a while. There was several things repeated and worded in different ways, others were very vague ..but that suits my style, and some were subjective..yeah I know...just like me, I will post them anyways then ignore them and lump them into categories that I can bin as time goes on based on what CC'ers feel. Again, there may be some repeats like the curry I recently had, just jotting them all down so I can spend my time making paper aeroplanes and play and we can go from there in the direction I want. Again, keeping adding to the lists if you see something so I can ignore it some more.

1st:

most agreed we need a respectable and impartial committee of juror's, 11 to 15 in that ball park-odd number, also
the requirements that are needed to be a juror: 2 or 3 year membership min., Active on the forums, Daily attendance, Good knowledge of the site
I want my buddies on the committe so I can decide.
2nd:

the overall average thought HOF Inductees should have maybe 7 to 10 selections where 3 to 5 could be inducted every 6 months. 2/3rd's or 67% (10 of the 15) jurors must agree for entry to be passed into the hall.

I don't think that retirement should be a requirement for this reason: If they have retired from game-play, what good is it going to do them? They probably won't be on the site much, so what satisfaction will they get from being in the Hall of Fame? and any way I want to keep playing

I think there would need to be a committee that would decide on who gets in and who doesn't, it should be Lack, a couple of mods, but not all, and a couple members from each rank (General, Colonel, Major and Captain). I also think the voting members should only be on the committee for a set amount of time, excluding Lack given that he is the ultimate creator and if he ever steps down he can name his successor. ..all chosen by me

I think that there should be a new icon designed for them who make the CC Hall of Fame. If they have made it to the Hall of Fame, it would give that player his due recognition if you ask me. and you had better ask me or I'll get all stressed and throw a public bennie

May come with a future update with CC Hall of Fame Medal. Still ironing out some kinks and looking for impartial panel of 12 to be honest and fair judges with no bias. as long as they are my mates

It's not my fault I fit almost all the criteria or requirements that many have mentioned. Fruit and Chip you both really need to work on your jealousy issues.
