The island youve named Celebes in Indonesia, last I checked was name Sulawesi, but I could be wrong.

Things to consider:

Include Tasmania (the island South of Victoria) as a seperate territory
Put the army shadows in the circle, not just outside.
Try the solid line aproach with the circled islands, like with the line connections.

I meant, instead of having the army shadow outside the dotted circle, try putting it inside the dotted circle.

Maybe you should make the islands a bit more detailed
and change the sea a bit

Agreed, sea should change a bit.

Other changes (in my opinion) that should be made:

Borders in the East of of Austrailia seem a bit off
Austrailia should be a bonus of 4
New Guinea should have a bonus of 3

As in the territories are a bit inaccurate, look at the austrailia map and see if you can get the borders close to those there.

borders in aus are slightly slanted, have a look at the aus map.

You NEED to sort out borders of countries, they look awful (sorry but they do, much like the ones in Montreal map.) Borders need to be slightly thicker, more uniform and smoother.

also, font needs to be changed, sea needs to be changed, plus australia needs to be darker, with more texture, same goes with indonesia and the phillipines. I think the rings around the island groups need to be thinner, and the islands more standing, at the moment you notice mainly the circle, where the circle should only be noticed second to the islands, to outline show where countries are.

There is some stufff to get you going, it all looks a bit too paint-ish at the moment, a few simpl changes could remedy that.

Can I suggest you use Photoshop? I've never used Fireworks, but I'm not sure it's working for you and I can give you better advice if you use Photoshop.

Fireworks is awesome!

tbh, for drawing things from scratch I use fireworks, for photo and picture editing, or creating pictures with more advanced effects I would use photoshop, but that's just my preference.

SpinWizard...R U going to include Timor as a separate Territory?

Also, as for using Fireworks vs Photoshop, use what u are most comfortable with....I tend agree with Bedplay.

You might look at the overlap on some of the island group names in conflict with the dashed lines around Tuvalu etc. this area seems very congested.

Hope this helps!!

I know you have abandoned, but here are my thoughts:

-> get rid of the land masses and rename the map, Islands of the Pacific
-> get a more detailed map of the islands

hmmm, maybe I'll take up such a map myself... :)
