[hands folded behind back, mood: somber] Dear Deutche Gentlemen, thank you for showing me where I have erred in my ways. My half-assed joke of a question which lacked all means of expressing my true emotion was taken a tad bit too seriously than I had expected. =( However! [pointing up into the air, eyes widen, slight smirk, with full sincerity], this is not unfortunate as it led to my much more profound understanding of Germany during this special time in its history. For that I thank you, gentlemen.

[pointing hand opens up, and while I'm talking, it sweeps before me with such grandeur that it even puts to shame the grandiose war propaganda posters of Great Leaders pointing their armies forward to battle!] From now on, I shall go on preaching that things were at some times not so great for some people, pretty good for some people, and perhaps some people were better than most while at times most of the people weren't any better than the other people, who may have or may have not been doing better than the other people, but once again most of the people in the East weren't living a life as terrible as the pro-Western propagandists like to portray.

[facial expression: truly inquisitive and sincere yet joking at the same time] Speaking of propaganda and film, what are y'all's thoughts on Good-Bye, Lenin?

Oh noez! Another romantic-comedy film?

Anywho, poor ol' Saxi saw it and LOL'ed at the "rebellious" youth seen through the capitalist lens of "rebellion" (i.e. "I'm such a rebellious youth! I desperately want homophobic and racist old men running multinational corporations to be placed in charge of the farmers and workers paradise! Freedom!") As a former staff advisor with the World Federation of Democratic Youth I can tell you most DDR young people of the period were radicals and revolutionaries striving to overthrow the bonds of tradition, theism and capitalism and usher in an internationalist, feminist regime of peace and environmental sustainability free from nuclear weapons ... not boorish, warmongering malcontents who wanted to reinstitute a clique of old, male racists and capitalists.

Fortunately, the global struggle for world socialism continues and doesn't require nation-states as the ultimate ideal is a world in which all national borders and all governments have been abolished anyway. Today, 45% of the U.S.A. GDP is under state control (federal / state / local) and - in most of Europe and Canada (save fascist Switzerland) that number has tipped over the 50% mark. These are the very definitions of centrally planned economies. Once the economic reality of Marxism-Leninism has been achieved the cultural stamp of the global Dadaistic and Syndicalist revolution can then be applied in which oppressed peoples - such as the Quebecois and First Nations people who are mercilessly persecuted by Canada's bigoted anglophone majority and their war-crime perpetrating forces of oppression - can realize their self-worth. Throughout the world the forces of socialism, atheism, and sexual liberation march on and nearer, daily, to the final victory!

Well that was uplifting, saxi.

It's a shame how the US has this situation where big corporations and the government pretty much work hand in hand, regardless of whether or not the decisions they make are in the people's best interest.

Where'd you come up with this fact?
45% of the U.S.A. GDP is under state control (federal / state / local)

By your choice of words I can tell that you are, at heart, a supporter of global socialist, Dadaistic and Syndicalist revolution and atheism /world peace / sexual liberation / class struggle in the spirit of Marxist-Leninist solidarity but have just been brainwashed into believing the supposed "evils" of proletarian internationalism.

Well the budget will be more balanced, so the annual deficit will be dwindling down.

I am concerned that your choice of verbiage is non-conducive to a spirit of egalitarianism and the creation of a welcoming, caring and inclusive environment on Conquer Club and have been forced to file a complaint.

Was it always your habit to immediately report people for anything that could be considered a ban-able offense?
