Great performance by Munich, had so many chances and most of the ball for the entire match. Man Utd missed a couple of glorious chances but Munich really could have got at least 3/4 tonight.

Can't wait for Arsenal vs Barcelona, going to be a great game hopefully, I'm still going with my earlier prediction of a score draw.

There are two objectives for Arsenal in their home leg.

First, and most importantly, do not let Barcelona put the ball into the back of the net. Stop them from scoring. Keep the score at 0 for them. If all else fails, keep it 0-0.

Second. Score. Doesn't matter if it's 1,2,3, 4, or more. Just score.

If we can do that, we should have a good shot at progressing in the second leg at the Nou Camp, but they can't be allowed to score at the Emirates.

So the two objectives - don't concede & score goals. `got ya.

Haha  I know.

To be honest the only objective that actually matters is stopping Barcelona scoring.

Ah well, no shame to lose to Bayern in Munich, we got an away goal so should be able to turn it around at home.

Good luck Arsenal tomoz, I hope you get a good result 'cos you'll need it for the Nou Camp. Try to injure Messi in case we meet them ;)

I'm confident we'll beat Chelski on sat (way more so than about tonight's game) and reckon Roo's fine.

Those damned efficient teutons

Man City 3 Wigan Athletic 0

Tevez 3.

this was a total shit game in the 1st half. we need Barry to play along side De Jong. Vieira didn't do fook all, his passing was nowhere near as good as it should be. a dodgy sending off and the game changed. wigan had 2 great chances just after the sending off though, but then the goalie got stuck in 2 minds of who to go for and missed the bal for Tevez to tap in. got to win at Burnley on Saturday to keep the pressure on Spurs.

St. Johnstone 4 Rangers 1

Papac.

oh dear, well at least this time it won't be 9 games in 22 days(something like that). it's still 10 points and a game in hand. with still 22+ GD better than sellick.

Arsenal 2 - Walcott (69), Fabregas (pen, 85)
Barcelona 2 - Ibrahimovic (46, 59)

What can I say, this game was incredible. First half, Barcelona slaughtered Arsenal and if it wasn't for many fine saves by Almunia and the fact that Barca didn't have their shooting boots on, the tie would have been over in the first 45 minutes. Second half, horrific mistake by Almunia for the first goal and Barca deservedly took a 2-0 lead. Full credit to Arsenal though, heads didn't go down, and they fought back as a terrific move saw Walcott equalise, before Puyol was sent off for getting Fabregas' leg trapped between his own inside the penalty box. Fabregas, who managed to pick up a suspension (dubious one at that) smashed home the penalty awarded and in the process foolishly caused himself some physical damage. Towards the end of the game Arsenal looked the better side and were desperately pressing for a winner. Bad news for Arsenal with Arshavin injured early in the game, and Gallas also picking up an injury which looks like it could keep him out for the rest of the season.

We've got it all to do at the Nou Camp, can't wait for that one.

Cheers, JB ;)

*edit*my money is on Barca to win the CL*edit*

Great game! Barca are superb, shame they bottled it at the end lol.

I wouldnt say it was a howler by almunia, sure he shouldnt have been out there but it was no rab douglas.

I thought Arsenal, in the last 25 mins at least, played as well as I've seen them play all year. Desperately unlucky to lose Fabregas for the away leg but this was mitigated by Barca losing their 2 full-backs! Almunia was superb for much of the game so you can't really blame him for conceding a mere 2 goals. Nasri was awesome, I never really took much notice of him but he had refused to give up all game. Sadly it was only when Walcott came on that the rest of the team followed suit.
Looking forward to this replay!

Inter looked good too...

I dont normally watch the pussies of the game(not even the 'pool) anymore, not live anyway, but the mrs was out and there was f*ck all else on, so I did tune in. And I enjoyed it  .....mostly. Almunia was brilliant in the first half, usually when I see him he makes mistakes. I laughed when Walcott scored and jumped off of the sofa with my hands in the air shouting penalty when Fabregas went down(I dont recall ever cheering for Arsenal before).....me, a football fan who does not like football very much at the moment.

The down side as always was inability to stay upright if somebody breathed on them. I didnt see a single piece of 2by4 on the pitch, yet I was sure that several players had been hit by one.

Great game, probably the best we could have hoped for realistically. Barca were completely rampant for the first 20 minutes but Arsenal did really well to get back into it by creating a couple of first half chances. Both the goals they conceded were cheap and just bad defending by Song and Almunia.

Nasri was awesome, by far their best player and really showing his true quality. I think the loss of Arshavin was most devastating for them, although they are rally going to miss Fabregas for however long he is out.

great game last night, didn't dissapoint like others have in the past.

Josh, you can't blame Almunia. fair enough he was too far out, but it was still a good finish by Ibrahimovic. don't forget the brilliant saves by Almunia in the first half to keep it at 0-0.

L+M it was the 2 centre halves and not the fullbacks they will lose.

Yes, I can, and I just did. I blame him for the first goal as he was in "No Man's Land" when he should have stayed firmly on his line and let his defenders take care of the problem.

Apart from that, he had a great game and without some of his smart saves Barca would have had 5 or 6 last night.

And you're right, it was the 2 centre halves. ;) Barca are weaker at the back and will miss those two. Unfortunately for Arsenal, I believe that Messi and Co. will score enough in the return leg to cancel out any that we might put past them.

safety for the lads but a rather disappointing season all in all due to lots of injuries. two younsters have come through and look big assets for the future. very optimistic about next season. one or two good signings and a huge club like us will be back where we belong, top 5/6.

not bothered who wins the league as long as it's not arsenal. and i'd love to see man utd win europe.

That wasn't exactly my thoughts....I never thought we'd do a Leeds, but I did think there was a real chance we'd end up mid table or fighting for play offs.

@Lord+Master: I agree the referee was bad, but he was equally bad. Your goal was clearly handball and Nevile on Anelka was a blatant penalty. Throughout the match he let a lot of stuff go and called back others which he shouldn't have.

Burnley 1 Man City 6 :D =D>

Adebayor 2, Bellamy, Tevez, Vieira, Kompany.

could of easily been 8 or 9 at half time. hit the post twice and had 3 on 1 twice aswell. this was the first game that Adebayor and Tevez both played well together.

Messi in the pockets of Silvestre! I'm an Arsenal fan but if Silvestre is in charge of marking messi we might as well not turn up. He couldn't even handle stoke a couple of months back. I'm not confident at all about tuesday
