I was premium for 3 years man. What's that? You haven't even been here for one year yet? Oh... That's a shame.

WINE generally works pretty well.demonfork wrote:I'm using it as a "dual boot" system on my laptop. It took forever to get an internet connection through wifi to work but had no problem with a hard wire connection. Other than that I am very pleased with it. I love the stripped down lean feel of this OS. If only there was more software available for this OS I would use it exclusively.

Yea, but that kind of defeats the purpose. I guess it's a good substitute until more software is available for the Linux platform but generally I hate running emulators.hecter wrote:WINE generally works pretty well.demonfork wrote:I'm using it as a "dual boot" system on my laptop. Wine Is Not (an) Emulator.demonfork wrote:Yea, but that kind of defeats the purpose. While Wine might not be "technically" an emulator in the traditional sense or that it might not fully resemble all aspects of emulators that we are familiar with, it still adds an additional layer of programming that is necessary to "translate" Unix equivalents into Windows API. For all intents and purposes (and I could even argue that by definition) it's an emulator, albeit a more sophisticated one.hecter wrote:Wine Is Not (an) Emulator.demonfork wrote:Yea, but that kind of defeats the purpose.
