Not really wanting to argue here....but that is the thing about subjective opinions...people might disagree and nobody is right or wrong. Dancing in the Dark is a catchy tune and has a great beat to actually dance to...

And you didn't even list my favourite rock song of all time...which is actually a Bruce Springsteen song...Pink Cadillac...rock the way it was meant to be.

Yes pink cadillac would also be listed above it. I realize it's subjective. I get really worked up about music though...to me there's no greater entertainment.

Kansas -- Miracles out of Nowhere
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jseTa7HUIDU The visual is boring but I looked at the live version and Steve Walsh jumping around takes away.

Boston -- Peace of Mind

"Crazy On You" was the best female vocal since Grace Slick in "Somebody to Love".

Aint she great? On their pop comeback hit "Alone", the best part is the second chorus where she skips the first 2 lines and just vocalizes.

All those songs you mentioned I also like, but I like dancing in the dark better, the topic is Favorite Rock Song not Best Rock Song.

Eventually you'll learn to ignore my rants when it comes to music.

"Like a tidal wave
I started swearing to my God and on my mother's grave
That I would love you to the end of time
I swore that I would love you to the end of time!

So now I'm praying for the end of time
To hurry up and arrive
Cause if I gotta spend another minute with you
I don't think that I can really survive"

I love the song...and I find that part really quite funny.

That's my favourite song of all time.

My wife likes it when I try to look her in the eye and sing along with that part in the car.

Joy Division - Love Will Tear Us Apart

More post-punk than rock but it's certainly my favourite song in the 'rock' genre.

Your not confusing this with The Captain and Tennille - Love Will Keep Us Together, are you?

Not at all. The title is a deliberate cynical response to that song. It is an all time classic, I am surprised you've never heard of it!

Agreed with Serbia about Alive by Pearl Jam, that is a classic. As is Smells Like Teen Spirit, In Bloom and most of Nevermind by Nirvana.

I find it hard to pick out select songs, but great rock albums, personal favourites of mine also include The Velvet Underground & Nico, Radiohead (The Bends, Ok Computer, Kid A), The Red Hot Chili Pepper's By The Way, Dark Side of The Moon and Are You Experienced? The Jimi Hendrix Experience.
