thanks for that JP

ok, here goes:

Mission Statement:

"A CC Hall of Famer is recognized as one who has shown great character, game play, and support. They have excelled in displaying quality sportsmanship in every aspect of the site. They are the type of player whose game play stands out above most, and has contributed to the CC world in multiple facets. It is our honor to recognize these competitors as a foundation, who helped build CC into what it is today."

BASE CRITERIA:

Any member of Conquerclub is eligible for the Hall of Fame provided they meet the following measurable requirements:

1. Longevity - A Conquer Club player who has been a member of this site for a minimum of 3 years.

2. Sportsmanship - A player who is respected by the Conquer Club community for exceptional skills, friendliness, and has a rating of 4.5+.

3. Clean Slate - They have not received a ban for a major infraction or multiple bans for minor infractions. Note: below a * defines CC's rules. This should be individualized.

4. Site Commitment - As primarily a gaming site, a minimum of 3,000 games must be played. (this helps measure premium status and dedication). The exception here would be if any person's focus was on organizing tournaments, map making, programming, mods, part of CLA, SoC, Newsletter Volunteer, Admin OR held a Team CC position or being a site worker of any kind, so this section here would need to be strictly individualized.

Specialty Criteria

We suggest the Nomination and Selection committees ask these questions about candidates, using their judgement to assess how well players have performed, paying particular attention to outstanding performances in particular areas and to players who have performed well in multiple areas:

01) Has the player received a Special Contribution medal?
02) How many maps has the player cross mapped on (5+ unique defeats), is it over 100?
03) What has the player's average score been over the entire career on CC, is it close to 2500+?
04) What is the player's highest earned score and rank?
05) Has the player produced maps? If so, How many? Are the maps popular?
06) Has the play organized tournaments? If so, How many? Were any close to a year long?
07) Has the player been involved as a moderator, clan organizer, in CLA, part of SoC, Newsletters, or programming?
08) Has the player won tournaments? If so, how many, and what quality of tournaments?
09) What is the player's relative Map Rank?
10) What is the player's rating? If possible, what is the player's feedback ratio?
11) Does the player have a majority of gold medals? How many total medals does the player have?
12) How many clan wars has the player won? Is their clan respectable and successful as winners?

* CC Rules Enforcement outlined below

For users who break the above Guidelines, as they say, "there will be consequences and repercussions." The Mods and Admins will always take into account when past infractions occurred, and the severity of the current infraction and any past infractions, in addition to the intent of the infractions.

There are essentially Two Levels of Infraction in Conquer Club: Minor and Major/Severe.

* Minor Infractions are those that are more annoying than hurtful with intent. This includes but is not limited to: Spamming, Off Topicing, Common Flaming, Common Trolling, Necro-bumping, Avatar Abuse, Chat/Forum Newbie Abuse, International Forum Abuse, Repeatedly Posting for Vacationed Users, "Report a Post" Abuse, "Cheating and Abuse Report" Abuse, Unwanted Solicitation of a user via PM/Walls/Gamechat), etc.
o Minor Infractions follow the traditional vacation escalation scale of: Warning, 24 Hour Vacation, 72 Hour Vacation, One Week Vacation, One Month Vacation, 6 Month Vacation*, with repeated 6 Month Vacations as necessary upon a Minor Infraction upon release from the max vacation.
Say a Minor Infraction of Spamming leads to a user's first Minor Warning. If they are found in violation with any Minor Infraction, be it Necro-bumping, Avatar Abuse, "Cheating and Abuse Report" Abuse, etc, the next level will be up the scale, even if the first Warning was not associated with the second infraction.
-----------
* Major/Severe Infractions are those that are more than just annoying, but are intentionally hurtful to a user, group of users, or the community in general. This includes but is not limited to: Cyber-bullying/Harassment, Bigotry, Personal Information Abuse, Account Sitting Abuse, Intentional Deadbeating, Repeatedly Holding Players Hostage, Serial Teammate Killing, Hijacking Accounts, Systematically "Farming" New Recruits, Illegal Point Collecting, Gambling, **Point Dumping** etc.
o Major/Severe Infractions follow a shortened vacation escalation scale of: Warning, One Month Vacation, Permanent Vacation.
**Note: Due to the nature of Point Dumping having an impact of the integrity of the game, your account will be suspended first until the issue can be resolved.**

If an account ever reaches a 6 Month Forum Vacation or Permanent Live Chat Vacation, their next infractions may be bumped up to a Permanent Website Vacation.

***Secret Diplomacy Infraction levels are as follows: Block and Warning, Block and 1 Week Website Vacation, Block and 1 Month Website Vacation, Block and Account Inactivation.***
-----------
Say a Major Infraction of Cyber-Bullying/Harssment leads to a user's first Major/Severe Warning. If they are found in violation with any Major/Severe Infraction, be it New Recruit Farming, Bigotry, Serial Teammate Killing, etc, the next level will be up the scale, even if the first Warning was not associated with the second infraction.

05) Has the player produced maps? If so, How many? Are the maps popular?

only a handful of players produced maps. There are only 150 some maps. How many different players produced them ?

12) How many clan wars has the player won? Is their clan respectable and successful as winners?

a clan means nothing

06) Has the play organized tournaments? If so, How many? Were any close to a year long?

why does the time frame make a difference? If you have a 5 round tourney, who cares if you send a round out per week or per month ? It takes the same amount of time and effort to create a tourney and run it. Yeah a 1 vs 1 is going to be quicker vs an 8 player singles game but why should that make a difference ? So a TO should be judged on the type of game he uses in his tournament?

jr, maps and clans are both a big part of cc and we thought they should be recognized, tourney's as well, were some long or almost a year, this is because it requires much more work, time and organization.

we never said how many of them 12 for specialty a player has to meet, we left that up to your committee or the nominations and selections committee, maybe it is 3, maybe it is 5, perhaps it is half, it will be individualized and up to the second committee to decide, but no one has to meet them all. We entrusted the nominations and selections committee to judge these 12 fairly and individually.

Agree with blitz, we were trying to include the ways, apart from game-palying a Hall of Famer might distinguish themselves.

This one is interesting to me. Maybe we could be a bit more general with how we put the question. Something like:

06) Has the player organized tournaments? If so, How many and what was the length, quality and popularity of those tournaments?

A player does not individually win a clan war generally. Why quality of tournament but not a quality of opponents in clan wars. I generally draw a lot of parallels between clan wars and tournaments, although they are slightly different. I don't want to put the emphasis solely on winning in clan wars.

maps are a big part. im just saying only a handfull of hundreds of thousands of people have created a map. Same as the contribution medal.
clans are a big joke. you have players in multiple clans, clan hoppers, and in the end...mean absolutely nothing. So I team up with dupa in thousands of games and it means nothing because we are not in a "clan"together ? big deal. "Clan wars"..again, who cares. You dont need to be part of a clan to challenge anyone to games. So a tourney that sits idle for months at a time requires more work ? How do you figure ? It really pisses me off to receive an invite 4 months later on a tourney that I figure was over because some players decided to deploy and end turn 62 straight rounds. How is that more work? You create the games, you update the thread, and you send out the invites. Whats the difference if you do it within weeks or a year? Its the same amount of work.

I'm somewhat pleased to see the word "programming" in there if that's the best you could come up with.

1-4 this is actually a pretty good first attempt - all of these are measurable, although it may be overkill to have both longevity and number of games as some people work for a living.

02) Have you counted how many members actually have >100 cross maps?
03) Average score > 2500 - please explain exactly how this will be measured
06) The length of the tournament is totally irrelevant but the size should be (at least 4 rounds sounds about right).
08) How are you measuring quality here
09) Relative Rank is used here so it should also be used for quality in 08)

i.e. The tournament criteria should be a high relative rank for a Hall Of Famer, not some Point-hoarder.

11) Totally useless as it has been proven to be easy to farm medals from organising Mickey-Mouse tournaments.
The medal count must exclude tournament medals.
12) This makes it impossible for non-clan players and the secondary criteria is hardly measurable.

Well it's not a bad start, I am giving you that, needs refining.
But at the moment , Blitz , it's kind of a joke because only 2 players even remotely qualify excluding 4. and 07)
Forward thinking, your Hall Of Fame would be looking pretty stupid with so few people eligible.

Real HOFs have a decent shortlist, not a no-list. (Check out some of the criteria published by official sports bodies).

So keep going and tune down some of the requirements to give it some respectability and it will start to look real good.

kind of what im saying. Some of the areas are irrelevant. I team up with players for thousands of games but dont need a clan for it. I dont understand why being listed in a clan is so important and I was part of a clan so im just saying it because im not in a clan. It mean absolutely nothing. Clan Wars ? So im on team X and playing team Y 50 times is different than me joining 50 games with the same player in public games different ? I really need a group name for it to be worth something special ? You also just mentioned the same thing about length of tournaments and another recent post as well. I dont get why dragging 4 rounds out for a year is any different in playing 4 rounds in a couple weeks. Yes- 4 rounds of an 8 player escalating game is going to take longer than 4 rounds of a 1 vs 1 tournament. But what makes it more better? Its a proven fact that the smaller 1 vs 1 tournaments are more desirable.

I think most of the tourneys that last around a year are a lot longer than 4 rounds, you cannot drag a tourney out forever, there is time limits and NS will abandon it if a player does not move the tourney along, at least, this is my understanding. Again, please remember, these are not my 12 suggestions, they are the committee's as a whole a majority discussed, voted, added input , had their say, etc. In the end we are one and are united as one, so I have to back up the criteria committee, however, your feedback has been noted JR and I will bring this back to the committee and we can re-discuss this and well as JP's point, that is the best I can do, we will re-examine them again further, thank you for your comments.

I'm just asking you to be consistent.

@ JR Multiple could mean 2 areas on the list so I wouldn't get all worked up over clans.

Is their clan respectable and successful as winners?

comments?

So keep going and tune down some of the requirements to give it some respectability and it will start to look real good.

chip, 1st off, this is a committee of 15 plus, not just ME.

On 2500 score most felt that was a good benchmark for a great player to maintain consistently, or around there. If you and JR want us to take the length of tourney's out, we can consider this as I will bring it back to the committee, but cannot promise anything. The measure of quality tournaments is meant to be longer tourneys with more participants or winning a variety of ways as well, teams, singles, etc. your relative rank point chip on tournaments is a joke and flawed and we did not add that, why? The same reason AAfitz posted about in another thread. For example, I have played close to 3,000 tournament games alone and against quality players, singles 8 players, assassin, terminator's, 1 vs 1, dubs, trips, quads, however my score has been around 3500+ or higher for a vast majority of these tourneys games and my opponents we mostly 2000 score lower than me, I probably have the worst relative rank out there, but, I have won a majority of the games. In fact, most know this when I started i had over 4200 score and dropped all the way down to 2700 score and won a majority of the games, but , lost over 1500 points and dropped, killed my score and relative rank, so there is exceptions to the rule here. Tournaments cripple super high score and ranks, this is why most super high ranks do not join them, because they have to be mostly available to the public and you are forced to play anyone and everyone, regardless of score, so to me, relative rank is a big joke for the players who risk monster points to win tourney titles. also, the committee felt medals as important chip, and for the last one 12, we also flt clans were important, although, I will bring these all back to the criteria committee to re-discuss. Finally chip, again, no one has to meet all 12 of these, basically they must pass the BASE criteria 1st, then mission statement, then the nominations and selections committee looks at the 12 specialty criteria, and the nominations and selections committee again chooses how many of the 12 one must meet, it will be individualized and trusted to them to decide, for one player it may mean they meet 3, for another it may mean they meet 5, for someone else who may be absolutely outstanding in one area, it may be only one of the 12. again, that is for the nominations and selections committee. The understanding is NO one has to meet all 12, we think more the better, but, not always is why we said individualized. I see more than 2 players making in now chip, again, you need to understand, they could meet only 2 of the 12 and the nominations and selections committee may see that person fit, and if they do, well, we will just need to trust them and accept it.

lol, I am not saying it is 2 of 12, what I am saying is no one has to meet all of them and whoever the nominations and selections committee are can decide that and we will trust them, we just develop the criteria, the nominations and selections committee are going to choose, so we are entrusting whoever gets voted in to that committee, well, we trust your judgement. I am not part of that, but, I am guessing if the nominations and selections committee are pretty divided on a player, they will shelf that player and go to the next one where a majority are saying yes, i mean, i do not know how you all want to decide that, but, we are leaving it up to the nominations and selections committee to decide how many of the 12 a player should meet, unless you or others have a suggestion, we are open. what do you suggest jr? we will leave this open to end of April, then we will go back and deliberate.

You should really, i mean.. really look over the criterias.

Most of the stuff is either unmeasurable or just stupid to have.

Blitz, you have made these to fit you like a glove. Just like your top5 list, many of those there are just stupid but they are still there because you are on it.

Someone should really remake the criterias if you ask me.

(PS, you did not have 3500+ points when you played most of your tournaments, you had an average score of 2500. But i'm sure you'll lie about that just like on your Medal-Score thing)

No, I think you are looking from a bad angle.. Lets face it.. Any criteria, blitz is gonna be on it. I give the guy the heads up because he is one of the few that actually trys to do stuff here. Is it self-serving? yeah probably, but it self serves because the guy probably fucking deserves it. Lets face it, could you or I come up with a top 5 thread or a hall of fame thread without blitzaholic being in the mix all over the place? No we couldnt.

So instead o being the internet dude that likes to tear down... throw your energy into building. You dont like the criteria, get involved, lobby for change.

Of course. I am fully aware of that. But why make the criterias so they pretty much only fit blitzaholic?

I they fit a few players. I dunno man... If I had a pony in this race I would throw my weight and lobby for criteria and so forth. But as it stands Blitzaholic has basically shouldered a lot of things everyone else conveniently ignores. I suggest if you have a pony in the race, get involved. I think he is personally a hall of famer (for whatever the f*ck that is worth in life) in CC, but I think that if enough ppl got in this and took over, he would back off and let them run with it. This kind of shit with trying to have a real life is not fun.

no one is lying moose, I did have over 3500 points, I had over 4000 points as well at one time when I was playing tourney's, and almost 4000 again now and have been playing them, I lost over 1500 points or more and dropped down to 2500's like I said from playing low ranks, middle ranks, all ranks. It killed my score and relative rank. I only dropped 2500's once since I played since 2006 and that was because s many tourney players were lower score than me, all of them were just about, some much much lower.

PS. moosy this thread is 3 years old, and for the last few months we have looked , really looked over the criteria, there is a committee of 15+ who all had say and input, this is what we came up with moosy, get your facts str8 before you post, you are sounding clueless. we try to do something to better CC and the jealous ones think it's all about me.

Having only 2 criteria will not likely get you in. If others up for nominations have 10 solid requirements and you only have 2, then you will likely not be in the first few years....
