Crippled by the recession, Californians who are worried about a number of issues -- from higher taxes to the environment
With massive unemployment, a state in serious financial trouble, people fleeing the state in record numbers etc, they are worried about THE ENVIRONMENT and higher taxes? Seriously? Aren't there bigger/more important things to worry about? Isn't it this thinking of Californians that has led them to the troubles they are in now? Why aren't they worried about the massive uncontrollable unsustainable spending that has led them to self-destruction, and the NEED for higher taxes? Are they really this stupid and short sighted they can't even realize that out of control spending must lead to higher taxes? The more money you spend, the more money you need to collect? Is it really this hard to understand? Their logic train is only 1 step long "we are out of money, and need higher taxes" and then can't make it to the next step of "the reason we are out of money is because we are spending too much"?

wow, lets all worry about money instead o' the environment... yea....... real smart idea genius. then you can be just fine, and your kids' kids can suffer... hey if we don use up all the resources the next generation will, right ? give me a break..

If we all run out of money, and our state falls apart, how will we ever manage to protect the environment?

Does the EPA still accept Califnoria IOU's???? Cuz that is what California is giving tax returns in......You know how bad that hurts the environment to force the gonvernment to print up IOU's? really, there is more to be considered than just the face value
Why doesn't the gov. Just bail them out too they did for a lot of failing industrys. I can't imagine that every californian is worried about the environment.

California's Government can't bail out California. Only the people of California can bail out California. Why should another state pay for all of California's mistakes and messups and overspending etc? By that logic I should just buy $1,000,000,000 worth of crap and services and massages etc and then let you bail me out of debt.

I (and everyone else I know) got my return this year immediately.
yes, I am aware it was last year. Are you aware that it's april 17th, and the majority of tax returns are just being recieved all at once? Oh yeah, I heard California has a bunch of money just sitting there waiting for tax returns. Do we really need to wait and see how this turns out? or can we start allowing educated guesses?
