Major ,Major; parting is such sweet sorrow.

Postby army of nobunaga on Fri Jun 18, 2010 8:50 pm

How long can I keep the ole major rank this time? I think 4 days is my record.

I play somewhere between 100-140 games

70% are 8man esc terminators. And this rank seems to be a bitch for me to keep.

Oh well.

Wanted to actually know if there were any other large room players here that keep a Major + ranking basically so I can message you and get tips.

Thanx :-)

I think our doubles games have stabilized my rank a little man... So I owe you the swords I do believe...

that and my quads team of crash,shoop,lunch36.... and sometimes that crazy mageplunka.

But im in the process of trying to crossmap 100% of the maps.. its a daily struggle.. was hoping maybe some colonel or major that plays the same game types would chime in here so I can get a mentor.

:S

Ain't gonna be your mentor mate. I have the same problem, but then with the Colonel rank.

The reason is quite simple though: we like to play and play a lot because it's fun. The only solution is play a lot less and concentrate on our ranks, but then we'd be bored stiff on CC.... :-^

Dragon dor is trying with me on waterloos. But I just am not good at that map yet.

You are probably right. there may not be anyone or many ppl that are super high playing the games I do with the number... i dunno.

If you cut the amount of games, and increase the amount of time spent on each game, I believe that you can raise your %. You can spend your extra time, not only studying your moves, but your enemies moves as well. Pay very close attention to your forts, and try not to leave any armies behind the front lines, unless they are there for deterrent purposes. Pick the most complicated maps that you can, and learn them. Once you do, then try out some speed games on those maps. One last thing, grab a hold of a high ranking Freestyle player, to show you the ropes. I personally hate Freestyle, but most of the top players on the leaderboard got their points from playing it exclusively. ;)

Freestyle is easy to learn and hard to master, also most of the high ranking players either play private escalating or team games.

Maybe we could play some trips together, and you could school us both ?

I reached Colonel sometime about 10-12 days ago and have maintained despite having 150 games going at the time.

The 8-man escalating is like feast or famine as far as maintaining rank is concerned, but I've hung onto my swords for quite some time now.

I have no idea why, though, so I can't give advice. I did pretty much cut out all speed games.
Highest rank: 48th. Highest score: 3,384. Feb. 9, 2014.
