Someone would have to work hard to differentiate this from the Indochina map.

I'd say that map looks plenty different from the Indochina map already. We need a Vietnam War map and I'm hoping to make it as part of the Rise of Communism map pack....

Though I have to say my version is rather complicated right now and will require cleaning up. I'll be taking notes from that link you've provided.

In the tet offensive US troops killed the enemy at a ratio unknown in civilized warfare. I Dont want to get into a debate here, that is the fact though.
I have many books with people that have done way more research than I ever will I can reference... All in all, yes I believe the war was wrong on an epic scale.. But what I believe doesnt matter.

I like battles and have had a classical education in warfare, and Im just pointing out what was "special" in the tet offensive.

If you could do a tet offensive battle map.. holy shit... that would be wow.

I jsut hope I and others could protect you from all the political rabble that goes on in the forums here.

anyway, good idea.

Well until W, it's the Democrats who started wars and the Republicans finished them... some Reps even argue that the War on Terror really started under Clinton...

As to the Vietnam War, Johnson / Nixon were so spooked by the direct Chinese and indirect Russian intervention in the Korean war, that they never truly committed to winning the Vietnam war out of fear that it might turn into a second Korean war. In which case they never should have escalated / continued in the first place. So yes, it was an utter mess.

Though, if you look at Vietnam today, you really begin to wonder who was "right" and who "wrong".

All of which has little to do with a war map here.

A more specialised Vietnam map than the general one we have could work, but it really would need to be a different concept from simply dividing Indochina in a number of regions and letting the usual gameplay take its course.

Good luck.

the fundamentals of these wars were different. and Vietnam today? - yes under American control it would like another, but both USSR/USA plundered their client states...

I agree with you, that this map needs different gameplay as "normal" maps. the regions here will be not working fine.
