So if tomorrow the amount of terminator games i can play was limited to 10. I suppose that would be a general statement. it doesnt matter what type of game I like to play. They say i can have unlimited. I'm not arguing for or against the fact that they did anything. Im just saying don't claim something that clearly isn't true is. its like saying fossils don't exist.

Me in this has nothing to do with me being a mod at all. The only thing i know is the number of point dumping cases.
And several on that list would not be playing more than 10 speeders at once

natty_dread wrote:And all you guys who whine "CC IS STEALING OUR MONEYS, I'LL SUE!!!!1111" get over it. CC has all the right to change the terms of service. If this wasn't the case anyone who gets banned could sue CC to get their money back.

The rules page states clearly: no refunds. If you find CC's service no longer meets your needs no one forces you to use the site, but don't go whining that CC is somehow "breaking the law" because you don't agree with a rule change. That's just sad and pathetic.

You really have no idea how the law operates. It's not that they're stealing and breaking some criminal statute. The problem lies in the fact that the contract between the site and the user lays out a few things. (1) There is a user code of conduct which includes the rules regarding cheating and forum abuse - you break the code of conduct, you void your contract. (2) The site is an entertainment site, if you find that you do not enjoy it, there is no refund. But the term "no refund" does not mean that the site is ultimately shielded from any liability. The mods who keep coming on here and saying that are absolutely ridiculous. Take a more extreme example, the speed game function is removed. Just because Conquer Club (a) "reserves the right to modify" (which actually isn't said anywhere) or (b) says "no refunds" doesn't mean that CC is free from liability. A contract between the player and site exists - in exchange for $25 and an agreement to abide the user code of conduct, Conquer Club has agreed to provide a service. While facially (although not anywhere anyone can find), CC has the right to modify what's provided, the site has provided this service and at once touted it as a perk of the site. Removing it undercuts consumer expectations and without offering premium members some form of consideration or compensation for the change, Conquer Club is liable. Now if Conquer Club said we will offer premium members another month free for accepting these modifications then that would serve as just consideration and therefore be legitimate but unilateral modification of contracts are virtually de facto illegitimate, especially in a term contract (the only situation where I can think of where modification without consideration is permissible is for employment at-will contracts but the site is a term contract).

Quite frankly I think the mod reaction has been both smug and arrogant. Just because it's only a fraction of users affected does not mean that said fraction shouldn't be allowed to air their grievances. The whole claim that 'whatever, most of you are probably not affected' is the same argument that can be forwarded against 'white proponents of desegregation.' "Why the hell do you care, you're not black" I know this is an extreme analogy but you flip your shit when someone justifiably has a complaint is ludicrous.

The proper way to have addressed this situation is to have submitted it as a suggestion and not had it be a unilateral determination of the site. The site is user-based and user-driven. The content, suggestions, bug reports, add-ons are almost exclusively user-submitted and it is something inherent to the site. New and old users would have been able to negotiate the change and had a vote on it. Doing so would have been proper because the user contract recognizes that other users will affect the gaming experience by the content, suggestions, etc. submitted.

The thing to is everyone that says this is a good rule. Is either a freemium or has never played more than 1 or 2 speeds at once anyways.

The mods say they have the right to decide what is good and bad for the speed users.

If I wanna play a million speeds at once if I can handle it than I should be allowed.

Anyone who has never played this amount of games or this rule doesnt affect shouldn't be coming in here supporting a descion that doesnt affect them and they have no experiance to speak from.

I see your point. But you have to remember, although I have only played a max of i think 4 or 5 speed games at once, I can still contribute to this debate.

Although I do not have the 10 speed game experience, I know that I had a lot of trouble playing 4 or 5 at a time, and I am a quick player now that I learned clickies.

If me, being a moderately fast playing player has trouble playing 4 at once, how is anyone ever going to pull off more than 10?

Some people may be able to do it, as you say, but it is a very small percentage..

My beef is that there are way too many of them, for you to be wasting time this way. I am sure that you think that, you are doing the right thing by siding with the admin. on this particular issue, but I for one, would much prefer that you go get those scumbag cheaters.

I realize that it is a tough job, but you signed up for it. This means that you wear the hat, and can not take it off when you post. Therefore, telling people to "move along" in threads that have nothing to do with your charge, is IMHO, - improper.

You guys can call this mod defending mod or whatever

So you are basically saying that LV (or any other hunter for that matter) should never play a game or make a single post anywhere but C&A because he should be busting more multies? Does this mean that other mods cant do anything but moderate their selected areas? If so i think you would have a hard time finding volunteers to do put as much into the site as they currently do in the form of moderating.

It is funny how in this thread viewtopic.php?f=470&t=118009&hilit=limit+speed+games I only saw one name (not counting mods and admin) voicing their opinion. Where were your opinions before this limit was set. I could probably go through the point dumping threads and not see to many of the complainers names in those threads.

THORNHEART wrote:Now look...MAYBE at some point CC should actually CARE about what some of the users think...werid idea I know.

Maybe if the dissenting opinions were voiced before the changes were made your voices would have been heard. Weird idea I know but that is what the suggestions forum is for.

Your question seems a bit silly to me, if you were not being facetious. Of course NOT. But telling people to "move along" in a conversation that was about a certain players "honor" is going far beyond a multi-hunter's authority, if you ask me. I was only voicing my opinion on that. It just struck me a bit queer is all, -That a multi-hunter would be wasting his time interjecting, and moderating a discussion about AoN's honor. And then I see the same guy in this thread, rallying behind his "team".

My point is, doesn't he have multi-cheating fucktards to track down ? Maybe he is bored with that job. It seems that he would rather be a chat mod. If that is the case, then maybe you can see about changing the color of his name. That is if you think that he would be any good at the job. From what I see, He would need some extensive training first. -respectively. 8-)

Well i dont know about the thread he said move along in but i would guess he was trying to diffuse a situation before it got out of hand. In the C&A sub-form the multi hunters basically act as moderators for the form in all aspects so LV did have the authority to make such a statement. Furthermore LV currently is a chat mod, memberlist.php?mode=group&g=153627.

Also you seem to think that most of us are rallying behind the team...when the truth of the matter is most of us supported the idea of limiting speed games before it was implemented.

well I have NEVER EVER seen a mod disagree publicly in a forum about a policy desicion. I mean I bet you guys work things out and agree alot but come on.

It would be bad form for the mods to disagree in public about a desicion I have no question in my mind why the mods are always "for" policy changes.

First of all, I have experienced some speed freestyle in the past, and have had more than 10 games active + waiting. This is because 8-man Assdoodles are best set up in big bunches. Starting 1 or 2 at a time is worthless because they end so quickly. I still play some speed games, but I will not even come close to hitting the 10 game limit for a long time, if ever. Therefore, although this update does not affect me, I would like to post my thoughts.

I haven't read everything written on this topic, but for the most part, I have only seen people who often play more than 10 speed games at a time arguing fervently against it (mainly assdoodlers, like Mageplunka and King Konquer).

I do not play more than 10 speed games at a time. However, I still think it is wrong to limit speed games.

I say the benefits of limiting speed games are not worth taking away the fun for some individuals.

What does this limitation of speed games do?
1) It limits the number of waiting games so that people surfing through speed games don't have to make a small extra effort... please! This is not an important issue; it isn't that hard to sift through games, and the number of times that there is even more than 1 page is small.
2) It limits point dumping. But think about it; most of the guys who are against the speed game limitation are assdoodlers who don't really care about points. They are just in it for the fun factor. They love playing assdoodles, and you can only have fun with them by playing a large amount at 1 time. To play a large amount at 1 time, they must be started in big bunches, and be in the waiting section until they are filled.
Who are we to limit their games for a stupid thing like points? These people are in it for fun, and we are punishing them because we care about a few people dumping points? When that is compared to fun factor, it just doesn't measure up. Taking away people's fun for a reason involving points is just plain wrong.

Please let me know any further benefits of limiting the number of speed games... these were the only ones I could think of, and they obviously don't justify this crime. So there must be more. ;)

I guess that a new thread could have been started to address that matter, but you did not lock the thread, so the conversation continued. My question to you is, why did you say "move along" but leave the thread un-locked. It just seems to me to be a contradiction. Admittedly, I do not spend much time in C&A, so I am not aware of how you do things. I was only there to give my support for a friend.

However, I do apologize for coming down on you the way that I did. But I hope that you understand that To me, it's buds before all. 8-)
