Additionally, as flores mentioned when pointing it out in the first place, it can be considered a scum tell outside of day 1 random voting phase. Once the game gets to that point, simply voting for someone because they voted for you is seen as not being helpful towards finding scum, but rather advocating the lynch of another player for reasons that have almost nothing to do with the possibility of the player being scum. The logic follows that if you are taking such actions that hinder the finding of scum, that you must not want scum to be found, and therefor must be scum. Note that this only applies once the game has gotten serious. Early in day one there is essentially nothing to work with so you can get away with making worthless votes, although it is possible that in doing so you will say something that leads to you being the prime candidate for day 1 lynch. For these same reasons, if someone advocated the lynch of someone for posting in an annoying color once the game has gotten serious they would likely face similar suspicion...

It's because voting someone merely because they voted you is basically seen as an irrational overactive defense response. A town player is trying to find scum and wouldn't vote someone purely for the reason that someone voted them. Also it lacks a real root of scumminess. While so does voting someone because they post in an obnoxious color, but it doesn't have the same kneejerk reaction quality.

No they wouldn't. And the thing is, certain mafia especially nooby ones are only concerned with keeping their hides in tact. That means they don't care what's happening as long as they aren't being put on the chopping block. This means they could quickly breeze through the text in order to put down a somewhat relevant post without all the information. IF someone is missing key parts obviously they're not devoted to the lynching of scum, so that is suspicious. However I do think that Flores is wrong in that, knowing the first person to vote because of color is not an obvious or even discussed fact. I think it'd require most of us to look back and find out who it was. For someone to ask for this information, especially someone short on time, has been done and is nawt scummy.

Having low activity by itself is not necessarily a scum tell. However, posting so quickly after you are called out for not posting implies that you were actively following the thread, yet not posting in order to hide and avoid suspicion. "Out of site, out of mind." That could definitely be interpreted as being a scum tell, it implies that you don't care about what happens today as long as you are not lynched, not a very pro-town attitude to have. Sometimes new scum make mistakes like that that give away their alignment.

The fact the violet alerted you to the fact that you were under fire for not posting is interpreted by some to mean that the two of you are both members of the mafia faction and that she gave you a heads up about that to try and prevent suspicion from building up on a scum mate. This might be stretching things a little too much, but if one of you turns up scum it would certainly warrant a close look at the other in my opinion...

I think the bigger question is if Violet and Daze are friends outside of this game. I mean if they aren't than it's most certainally scummy. But I've had people like Nag, Pmc, Frenchie-chan, and others (more during the days in which they were there ) tell me via MSN that I should post in certain threads because I'm a lazy jerk. So it's not really something unheard of. Between friends at least. It is unheard of for someone who doesn't another another person to tell them they should post. ;3
