I'm going to put some of the blame on the players personally. Hard to make a good game if ony 4-8 people are going to consistently participate. Also vio you walked into the thread twice today but despite citing that there were several good cases, the fact that there has been some suspicion thrown your way and being asked to comment on those cases you only have interest in why commander's asking to be replaced?

I've got to agree with that last bit...In fact, she specifically said no when asked to comment [at least I think that's what the "no" at the end of her post was about... vote vio

He stated that he asked to be replaced in this game days ago. In the meanwhile he was still posting actively in other threads. If you look at reason #2, he states it was because something in this game seriously bothered him. It wasn't just a tiny little thing he could ignore. This particular thing SERIOUSLY bothered him, so much so, that he had to ask the mod to be replaced. And he is a pretty dedicated player, so not like him to just quit without a good reason. Well at least....that is what I'm trying to determine here.

No offense to Ficoal, but this game is less then entertaining with the whole unmafia thing. If I thought a replacement could be found I would ask for one too.

Do people seriously think that the name changes anything? All that it means is the game is likely to have some more weird roles than a normal game would.

WTH!!! No one was even talking about you!! Most of the discussion has been centered around Flow, Victor and myself. This is also how a typical mafia game progresses. There have been some really good quality discussions this game. So if the nature of the arguments offended you, then you might be offended in every mafia game. (By the way, I have not seen any insults, meanness or anything offensive so far in this game, so can't for the life of me figure out what offended him).

Whatever. If he's offended by something, at least he had the decency to tell us and ask for a replacement and not just go awol. Don't get too bent out of shape about it.

This game is just waay over my head right now and I am feeling very noob. I can't understand or keep up with the arguments. I can't for the life of me figure out what offended commander so much that he would just quit. That is greatly bothering me. I just don't get this game right now. There is really nothing that I can offer the town. It's not a good feeling- knowing you cannot contribute anything- but such is the reality. So If you wish to lynch me, go ahead. It will progress the game, and keep things interesting for those who truly want to have a good, enjoyable game.

Got exams and I've basically only been playing games that are closer to finishing(and thus take less time, cause you don't have to constantly backtrack to find any small scummy thing anyone has said).

ok vio, even thought i find myself agreeing with the frenchy and strike, i want you to have clear that the reason why i am voting you is not personal at all, you seem like a sweet kid, but the thing is that having played with you in one other rodent infected game that shall remain nameless i got the opportunity of see how aggressively you play as town, how hard you try to analyze everything and come up with cases (even thought you can suffer of severe tunnel vision, you really try), and i have not seen that passion and self righteousness of you in this game, what is worst, after focusing so much on commander you made obvious to have skimmed, you completely ignored the accusations and votes throwed at you, is for this reasons that i have to seriously doubt of your towniness and go ahead and vote violet but seriously kid, if you are town, and just feeling out of sorts, dont throw the game so easily, is not fair to anyone, if you could rather not play you can TOO ask to be replaced, and if you want to play but you are not sure about how, well do all what you can do for try to save yourself and see how things could developpe on day 2, day 1 is always a mess, and we have to resource to grasp at straws, but day 2 should be much more solid.

I am going to agree that commander should explain his role though that expectation may be unlikely. Though the reason why he left seems to be so heavily based on speculation and can be interpreted in about 50 different ways (ok maybe slight exagerration) and is mostly about his finals (don't forget he's made the same announcement in other games). I think we have better leads than this.

Shall I quote the part where you said that he has asked to be replaced in all his games? But he must be quitting this game because he has a cool role and doesn't want to be lynched? Tell me what option he would have gone with then
A - He quits this game because he has a cool role and is afraid of being lynched, despite the fact, as you said, there is hardly any case for him at the moment.
B - He quits ALL of his games because he is clearly mafia in ALL of them and is afraid of being lynched in all of them! oh noes!
C - He quits this game because he is mafia, but quits ALL of his games just in case it looks suspicious for this game.
D - He quits all his games because he has finals

Perhaps 3) of your numbered option is that some of us think that it was a ridiculous case without much evidence to support the theory. You say it makes no sense yet you think that must be what he was doing, you also say that he quit all his games. But he MUST be mafia in this one because he quit? Explain those other games then.

Thank you for the kind words Flores. I didn't take any votes this game personally. I understand I have received the votes for my poor playing, odd behavior, and lack of contribution. By all means, if you find yourself going "wth violet," at any point this game, you have every right to vote me, and every right to expect me to come up with an argument explaining my behavior. Its not personal, its the nature of the game. (I understand you saying that, since I took some things in Briarsburg personally. But I don't think I have in this game).

I haven't responded to the accusations against me because I haven't thought of a good reason yet. I know that sounds totally lame...

I feel strike and edocsil understand what I was trying to say about Commnader. And yes my long dramatic post has to do with what Commander said in bold, which aage quoted in his hilarious post. Though its interesting that strike understands now, but didn't before- when I first made my post about it.

I haven't been skimming this game I've read through everything twice. The first time was me trying to understand everything that was going on, but being a bit lost. The second time was me trying to figure out what in the world offended commander so much. I feel like there is something going on that I just don't get.

So I think it will do both myself and everyone else some good for me to go ahead and read this game thoroughly. I will do so later today when I get back from work. Hopefully then, I will be able to. I do think people were gasping at straws a bit with Flores and Victor, which is why I was somewhat puzzled while reading the arguments.

And no I don't want to throw or give up on this game. Wouldn't be fair to fircoal, or anyone else playing this game. Since I'm modding myself now, I know what its like to want yuour game to be active and run as smoothly as possible. And after a few of the comments people have made to fircoal . If my opinion counts for anything- I actually think its been a very good game so far. The type of discussions that have managed to emerge from the silliness and come out on Day 1 is impressive.
That's another reason why I'm miffed about commander. He is not leaving this game because of time constraints and finals; it was a completely different reason. He wanted out before his finals. My last post was just one of hopelessness, from not being able to understand, from my argument about commander being misunderstood, nor being able to express myself or defend myself well against accusations.

Ack- my grammar. That last sentence was horrendous, but basically summarizes my thought flow right now. I have found the last few post to be quite encouraging- thank you all. I want to give every effort- whether good or bad, as I do in all the other games. Makes it more fun for all.

And yes I'm sure, hoping third on this bandwagon will look scummy but.......

I was talking about the PS part, anyways looks like I'm wrong in this sense. I'm still keeping my vote on him though for the strange P.S clause which in my view deserves more explanation.

Commenting the case on VioIet, I think it's good to note that she specifically stated that she was surprised because commander had already asked to be replaced in this game. I can't speak for vioIet, but that's what I've gathered from it.

I think that gives reason for a slight FoS on Nag, Skoffin and ga7 but since I don't have access to VioIet's thoughts but only to the stuff these three have read, I think it's just a case of different interpretations...

I agree however on the bit where Commander includes a P.S saying that if he is modkilled, the game will unbalance. I don't really think he would've added it if he were mafia, but then he could have anticipated we'd think that, etc, etc, wifom, and it's still scummy.

If he is going to be replaced, I'd like to hear something from his replacer.

Actually I did check and other than briarsburg where he was playing an important role hunting down scum he'd been mostly inactive in all his games during the stretch between he made his last post in this thread before the announcement and the actual announcement.
