After shooting I typically clean the barrel when I get home. Then light amount of oil...not too much that it attacks dirt.Borderdawg wrote:Just a couple or three of my favorite house guns!
S&W M&P 40, .40 cal. Always swab out the barrel, breach, and magazine well. Then spray down all parts with a good gun oil. (I like Rem Oil) Full break down and clean every 2-4 months.
Ruger Security Six. .357 mag. Got to love a revolver! Takes about 5 minutes for a full clean!

Always keep a can of good gun oil handy, if you don't have time to clean, spray down the entire weapon, inside the barrel, breach, mag well, all moving parts, it will protect the firearm and make cleaning easier when you finally get around to it!
If I could only own one gun, it would be a 22 competition rifle. They are quite, fun to shoot, accurate, basically no recoil....just a blast.
