Don't worry, there's a little Lebowski on the way.

I'm going to continue my vote from yesterday: vote Streaker for the same reasons as earlier, plus his overly defensive response to Saf casting a vote on him, going so far as to say that Knox and Saf were helping each other:

Streaker wrote:I'll try and see if I can find some more evidence to the cooperation between safari and Knox, hoping to better support the case.

He never did vote for Knox, but anyone cautious would do this. All in all, with the revelation that Knox was indeed town, then I think this is the next best case.

hmmm yes, it seems knox and saf were helping each other for most of yesterday, which is why I feel safari's actions are all the more incomprehensible, he sticks up for knox, agrees with him says he'll give him the benefit of the doubt, blah blah and so on.

Then knox claims TOWN JOAT and saf responds with this

safariguy5 wrote:Yeah, I don't see how that's going to be the power role that decides town victory.

What's up with this man? being a jack of all trades suddenly makes him inconvenient to you?
Your post basically says you think he is the power role he claimed, but you hammer him.
He claims a guy with an investigation, but you hammer him without even the passing standard "so what was your action?" that always gives the potential for more info lying or not. Hiding something?
Vote safari FOS streaker, would he be the plausible investigation of knox? If so we may have a more conclusive case since he would have been aware of his alignment before hopping back on the case.

This is far better then the case on streaker. I will FOS Naxus for pressuring a claimed JOAT, putting Dlanor in position to be hammered by the scum/someone who doesn't know what they were doing. I will Vote Safariguy for hammering a claimed JOAT before really giving us a chance to analyze the situation.

Maybe it's because I'm freaking Harris Locke?? And I'm also a Town JOAT with 2 actions a night. And the kicker is that I'm masoned with Mr. Squirrel who can back me up. So naturally, I assumed that there couldn't be two town JOATs and that Knox was lying. That's why I hammered relatively quickly. Besides, it didn't seem like Knox had anything left to explain.

I agree. I did a ploy at the beginning of resteraunt mafia in order to get discussion going and seeing who would jump and a bad BW. While this was almost identical to what knox claims to have done, I think he is either lying about the ploy, or he took it too far hoping it would catch into a lynch. The difference between the two are that in my resteraunt ploy I dropped some small accusations toward vio, focused on her a lil bit, and then watched as lots of people either jumped on her or defended her. However, once I got an actual lead and before the wagon got out of hand, I stated what I did and drew attention toward the new lead (herk). Vio never got near a lynch (unlike jeraado in this game) and as soon as I had something constructive to add to the town discussion, I shared it so that attention was diverted away from vio and she was not hurt by the original ruse. This ploy by knox (if thats what it really was) went much too far than it should have. I think the only reason knox called it off was because he saw that a strong bunch of us were defending jeraado. If jeraado had been lynched and came up town, it would not have been difficult to drum up support for his lynch tomorrow.

In summary, my thoughts are this:
Knox is either:
A) scum who started a wagon and then called it a ploy in order to save his own skin
B) an overconfident townie who is not quite as experienced at mafia as I thought he was (for letting the ruse go so far)

I'm leaning toward A right now, but I want to see how the discussion turns up before I place my vote anywhere.

Done with this. You clearly can't see the point of a gambit, so I'm not going to argue with you about experience...

I'm claiming a Town JOAT. Do what you all will.

That really seemed like there was nothing else to be said.

So you are already claiming JOAT, and that you are masoned? Maybe we should 'call your bluff' and ask MrSquirrell if he will indeed back you up?

That claim was a bit out of the blue. I think it's pretty much forced a response from squirrel, so I think we should wait to hear from him.

I read back through saf's posts and a couple of things stood out for me:

1) The number of role-speculation posts. It definitely stood out, and seemed on a couple of occasions to be outright fishing

2)
safariguy5 wrote:So you're now saying Vio is your buddy? Are you claiming masons now?

At the time I thought the mention of masons was a bit odd, but now that he's claiming to be masoned, it makes sense (given that we would assume there would be only one set of masons in the game)

3)
safariguy5 wrote:vote Saxland for not really participating in the game and not contributing to the discussions.

He'd already been revealed as a double-voter and was clearly hampered by the PR, but the vote on him is light and doesn't address the unlikelihood of mafia double-voters

Iliad had claimed cop, so unless you are going to make a case that it is a fake-claim, you don't vote for a pro-town asset.
One of these votes I would write off as an oversight, but I'm not so sure about 2.

It'd be good to get the mason claim confirmed by mr squirrel. That being said it wont actually tell us for sure whether saf is being truthful (mafia mason/scumbuddies covering for each other) but it would switch the probability back to being pro-town

Who the heck is "Harris Locke"? someone famous or something?
I'm not 100% convinced until someone can tell me why it's a town name, the "Harris" part seems odd considering the known mafia guard was "Haris Pilton" I'm not saying that they are both part of a clone army by Stephen Hawking or something, but still... a bit odd.

Also the flavor seems to indicate some sort of genius or something, his "friend" could be Godfather Stephen Hawking both attempting to "end" the horrible apocalyptic sequence that is the world in the most supervillainish way possible. Once again just flavor speculation, but I'm not sure I'm ever seen a mason-ed, bulletproof, double JOAT in a game before, sorry if I'm a bit suspicious that it's a town role.
