Yes, you will learn that, but you will also learn whether or not Greece is a lyncher. If he is, then we lose.

Or we wait, give Greece a chance to test his sanity, and lynch hecter tomorrow if Greece is sane (or if Greece dies).

Frankly, I think Greece is probably insane, and lynching hecter will waste our lynch for the day.

Or if he is insane, he can still help the town.

Or he's paranoid and he's useless. Or he's a lyncher, and you will lose. Besides, we are down two already, we can't afford to make mistakes.

Basically, just as a vibe from some of the other twists we've seen this game, I think the odds are pretty good that Greece is insane.

Right, but if every selection he gets is opposite, then if he just reverses it, then it's what it really is.

As everwhere said, there are twists, and I think it is highly likely that that would be one of them.

Exactly. That's what insane means. I just don't want to lynch anyone on his say-so until I know what his sanity actually is. Hence, my suggestion that he investigate me tonight.

I think that that is a good idea. But, unfortunatly, there is one flaw. If he IS a lyncher, than he will say you are innocent, so then you will kill me, winning the game with him. But, it is definatly worth a try.

Okay, everyone needs to chill out on hecter for a moment. I'm not convinced he's town, but I clearly don't have the same faith that the rest of you have in greece. So, please, hecter's at lynch -2, all it would take is for someone who hasn't been paying attention to vote him, then the mafia jumps on, and BAM, we're conceptually down another townie.

It's false that lynching hecter would tell us what greece's role is. You know what the only real way to know that is? Lynching greece.

I'll lay this out again:
Scenario 1: greece is an honest cop, thus hecter is scum
Scenario 2: greece is an untrustworthy cop (insane, paranoid, whatever), thus hecter is probably town
Scenario 3: greece is scum, thus hecter is almost certainly town

In two of those three scenarios, hecter is town. In two of those three scenarios, greece is either untrustworthy or scum. And he won't necessarily be an inverse paranoid (sees town as mafia, sees mafia as town). It might be totally randomized, and I've seen games where an inexperienced player with a difficult cop role (i.e. insane) more or less lost the game.

Thus, if we lynch hecter, and he turns out to be scum, then yay and we do the aforementioned happy dance. If we lynch hecter and he turns out to be town, then we still don't know whether greece is an untrustworthy cop or scum.

Now. I'm not saying we should lynch greece today. But I am saying that, barring further evidence, we shouldn't lynch hecter. Not right away. So, unless you can refute my points, please unvote hecter. We can always vote him later if he does something scummy, but he's too close to a lynch.

What I am worried about right now are the skimmers, of which there have been too many in this game. Skimmers ultimately fall into two categories: scum, and uninformed townies who will neither be able to contribute theories nor vote intelligently. So I propose a little test. This is a pretty long post, and a skimmer might not have read to the end of it. So if you've gotten this far, and you're town, lead off your next post with the words "oh, man"... then we'll see who's been paying attention.

oh, man. You forgot the fourth Sceneario where he is a lyncher, and I'm the lynchee. Another bad scene.

It's pretty much irrelevant, actually. The game won't end, and we can still win, even if the Lyncher does as well. In one of Fircoal's games that exact scenario played itself out. Some of you were actually in that game.

Even if we do consider the Lyncher/Lynchee possibility, it still means that we shouldn't trust greece (and that we should refrain from lynching you for the moment).

But the Lyncher/Lynchee scenario is only like a hundredth as important as the three I laid out...

Well, think about it this way. He would kill me, taking out a townie, and then he would go on his merry little way, taking out two people. That means, in one round, we lost four guys. THAT would really suck.

While you have a point Incan, I don't trust Greece that much, though I do. Not because of his claim, and no-counter claim, but because Hecter is scummy. My vote stands.

You better read posts more carefully, especially the one of aimless at the end of page 8. That's why I voted you.

As the suggestion of him becomes not meaningful anymore...

Could you also share your conclusions with us from all these questions to hecter regarding everywhere's pm to him? and of course also results of your little reading tests?
