win percentage would not stop you playing lower ranks because it would not affect your position.

at first i thought if you looose the lower ranker gets higher, so you should go lower, but if it does not count, well that would be wierd..
also lack has stated that cc does not have freebies where you can battle without risking something

ok, back on topic

i don't think going to 1000 from a point reset would hurt him because he'll get those points back quickly.

what i do think would hurt him is his required removal from all those top 5's he lovingly maintains because of the point reset.

I don't think that is really required.

All the accusers have ever asked for, as a minimum, is a non conditional apology, open and to everyone. It is further indication of the way sitsaholic (a nod in CoF for that brilliant name) actually views the world. I am unsurprised he chose the route via Robin.

I am actually starting to pity him as he obviously has even less backbone than even I gave him credit for.

Jobiwan's account is suspended until he comes back for his account. His account sitters can continue to make turns for him in his current games.

That e-mail doesn't seem to make sense.

"...but you are convinced that he is deliberately chosen not to play jobiwan's turns."

KA says this as if he's about to argue the point...but then he confirms it? Either he had a brain-cramp while typing, or you doctored the e-mail.

Also, I hate when people post private conversations without consent of the 2nd party.

Back when he first started joining a lot of real tournaments... tournaments where anyone could play anyone and before he figured out how to farm there, too... he hovered between 1600 and 2000.

This whole saga further reinforces my belief as to why admin on this site suck and why I won't be renewing my premium.

As usual, zero input from Lackattack over the biggest thing to happen on this site since Wicked went mad.

Why do people even think this important? I mean really, a guy broke the rules, he was warned. It's not that big of a deal, and you all are giving this guy much more attention than he deserves.

Its because of the importance he has placed on himself over the years. If one aspires to self importance then one should hold themselves to a higher standard as well but clearly thats not the case here.

Think of it like the Barry Bonds case. Someone who inflated their own ego to anyone who was (or wasn't) listening and is thus despised by a lot of their peers. Holds a lot of records that are called into question by those who remain "true to the game". Finally gets caught breaking the rules and gets off with a slap on the wrist.

In my opinion, that's perfectly productive, actually. That really SHOULD be the entire goal of the site, in my view.

For someone to pursue the "goal" of playing only those who are better, someone who's better will be forced to play those who are worse. How do you handle that?

I would HOPE it was a brain-cramp, because if that's a doctored PM, eddie2 did an awfully obvious job of it. <laughing>

For my part, I care so much because of what he has done to Jobiwan. And I DO think that is a big deal.

Obviously, there is always a "range" of those who are of basically equal skill. At least, I thought that was obvious. Thus, the idea of promotion/relegation via leagues, as they were discussing.

If you want to climb in ranks - win in your ranks. If you want some other battle trophies - win the tournaments or clan wars.

I tried so damn hard to get him to be more present on the bigger issues. I tried so damn hard. Alas, no success. I agree, this is one he should have commented on by now. I can't say what he should say, but he should say something at the very least.

Are you forgetting that none of this would have happened if Jobiwan was actually here, playing CC? He did this to himself, and Blitz just took advantage of that.

Having read all the stuff I missed in the last 12 hours lol I had a lot to digest. As far as the actual percentages of point breakdowns and such I don't really have the background to figure all that out... All I can tell is that the current system doesn't accurately show the skill of the player. I don't really see why this couldn't all be adjusted while keeping a single scoreboard but maybe I am missing something. What I imagine (I have never played WOW or any games like it) is a system where you simply cannot gain/lose points against with a drastically higher/lower score or at least if you play someone outside a certain range, the point gain/loss becomes exponentially smaller/larger. I am sure there is a perfectly plausible way to do this and there is some mathematician out there who would love to figure this out.
Finally, I think that the Conqueror, since they are theoretically the best can only play those who are below them and that is the price of the throne: you must defend it. What fun is it if one person slowly gets more and more of a cushion at the top with no challengers? Especially if this cushion isn't even related to playing the game but rather taking advantage of the system. Maybe the whole Conqueror position needs to be re-designed so that on a given interval he/she has to defend the title in a match against #2? Or even a constant sort of tournament between the top 10 where every week the strongest holds the position. The current setup is BORING. This game is supposed to be about Warriors, not Fatcats.

Upon reflection Warning was the correct decision. The ONLY thing he can be proven guilty of is joining those public games. Everything else was a witch hunt.

I thought so when the case was first posted. But once I started looking into the history of tournament games Jobiwan was listed in, I realized it was a deliberate campaign. Jobiwan was being joined into new tournament games on the same day that he was missing turns in other tournaments. That just isn't right, and the fact that it's technically allowed by the rules doesn't make it right. Whether it was Blitz or Lulu or some other turn sitter I have no way of knowing, which is why I haven't been more vocal in these debates. But whoever it was cannot pretend to believe that it was a well-intentioned error.
