At least it wasn't 0-0 tie... I'm still trying to understand those. ;):)

US-Italy

Those red card calls were shite. US did great though- I could barely tell they were missing two. A tie's okay- didn't hurt us at least.

The sending offs were all correct. The elbow was a blatant red card offence, the first US tackle could easily have broken the Italian's ankle & both the other offences were yellow cards. The ref had a good game.
Taking an enemy on the battlefield is like a hawk taking a bird. Though it enters into the midst of a thousand of them, it pays no attention to any bird other than the one it has first marked.

The ref had a good game...hehe except for the fact he was watching some other game...Like the announcers noted, see if he refs another game. Also they happened to mention he got into trouble 2 world cups ago for unsual calls, and missed the last cup because of it. Hm, food for thought.

Yeah, you know? When both teams are both too good to break past the defence...

That's right, "football" or, your pathetic renamed version "soccer" does require skill, it may be hard to believe. :)

I think Ghana played amazingly, beating the #2 ranked team in the world 2 - 0... Wow...

Not that sure about the first yellow card for Pope, it seemed the Italian was pulling him down by his shirt. But as you said, the others two were straight reds, no question.

i think ghana have a chance now of getting through, usa is two men down for their next match, so subs will come on, and if ghana played like they did with czech republic, it would be amazing

Kroatia 0-0 Japan
Great game, if only Japan tried to counter it would be even better.
And again a very good De Bleeckere as ref

Just because they're american ;)

The Australia - Brazil game is interesting, Australia have missed quite a few chances... Kewell is playing nicely :)
