Did you even read what PassingSamaritan said, Owen? If so, how could you possible think anything they said was "for her defense"?

Anyone consider that IR may be the longstanding multi of Wicked, finally gone psycho? Hmmmm.......

I was very close to ol wicked and called her BS right about the time she moved cross country; finally came out 2 years later.....those damn lyme ticks......lol. So similar.......the stated ages don't mesh, and the pictures would have to be wrong, but...... lol.

Anyhow.....just love a good snowjob :D

I don't understand why this was posted in this forum. All you uninteresting weirdos need to go back to GD where you belong.

If it is a hoax, as it appears to be, what's the big deal? She hasn't hurt anyone. I for one am glad to hear that a fellow CCer is not in the hospital dying. Actually, I think it's kinda clever and amusing.

You are correct, I was probably half reacting to comments about the Norway tragedy. I don't know if her story makes sense or not, but the above post was not actually out of line.

Despite being gone for about 2 months, and then stating in my first thread after being back that I'm stuck in bed due to knee surgery for at least a couple weeks, and that I came here out of sheer boredom. Oh, and that nothing has really changed, thus still reinforcing my opinions, especially with certain trolls.

Wow... what a pathetic turnaround response. You got fooled, and now you claim it to be "clever and amusing"? You must have thought the same thing when wicked posted all those bloggers about how to make multi's on cc and get away with it. You were just glad her lyme disease wasn't taking a physical toll. I guess it's just "clever and amusing" that CC has had a stable of mentally unstable (see what I did there?) moderators. This time around, IR even tried to bring down some players with her by baiting people by saying "can't wait til you fuckups get what you deserve, hopefully it'll be permabans" bullshit.

Oh absolutely. Perhaps the most amusing part is watching people without a life getting their boxers all twisted up about it.

I believe there is a good deal of difference between what wicked did.. straight out sabotage, and what insomniared is accused of doing.

At any rate, I really don't care, except as daddygringo noted, I am happy to hear anyone is not hurt.

You're obviously not thinking about the ramifications of what you're suggesting here.

If, as it seems, she really is bullshitting, she is obviously a mentally unstable, delusional person. By validating her delusions, by giving her some kind of credit for her bullshit, you're only making her condition worse. That's a horrible thing to do to someone who already suffers of mental problems.

Like I said in GD... when you take a stance publicly, you get emotionally invested in the cause you support, thus making it harder for yourself to turn around and say "ok, I was wrong". Maybe you should take a deep look inside, and ponder a while if it would be better to just admit "I was wrong about this" rather than try to justify the actions of a mentally unstable person?

I think what most of us are saying is we just wish her well. If its a joke, this is just not a big deal for CC. For her, its a big deal either way and we just wish her well.

No. Lying should have consequences. She is a liar. I called it after reading the first post. When I questioned it, everyone jumped on me, calling me names etc. I didn't make her post a completely unbelievable fairy tale. I am not wishing her well, until she admits that she is an attention whore and she receives a forum ban for spamming up GD with nonsense.

I knew it didn't belong here, but I wanted to make a separate thread for the discussion, and I didn't want 2 threads about it in GD. Besides, I think there's less modding here; the GD thread has already been locked.

So true.

I'll fully admit that I don't know much about internal bleeding and comas, and that was part of why I believed her. From the beginning, the story sounded too unbelievably horrible to be true... but I went along with it because I didn't notice any specific inaccuracies.

I still don't fully understand why people don't believe her, but I'm sure they have good reasons... what were those reasons, again? Could someone compile a list? Just to be clear, I've read everything, but I'm still not convinced she's lying.

Not everyone, but I will say that you and Owen did get singled-out unfairly for taking the originally unpopular stance. I think what irked many people is that you guys weren't the most tactful when it came to pointing out the holes in the story.

yes I see people as handi-capable and they should be treated equally if they are full of shit, regardless. Many mentally ill people don't lie, and many sane people do. I have dislike for liars, not mentally ill people.

I wonder about the mentality of everyone sticking up for her, even as her story unravels more and more. It is almost like people WANT it to be true.

This has been an interesting read along with the other threads. Occasionally I play a doctor on TV and from the description of her injuries it sounds like her peritoneum might have been pierced causing sepsis and one treatment possibility is a drug induced coma. Now this is just a theory that makes the story maybe a little bit more plausible. Sepsis does affect the mental condition. Just so you don't start thinking I'm really smart, I googled this stuff and here are some links.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Peritoneum

http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmedhealth/PMH0001687/

http://www.everydayhealth.com/blog/zimn ... t_id=28095

This is just speculation on my part. I take no sides, of course I hope for the best. If I were to play a lawyer on TV and were her defense council I might point out that she may not have adequate health insurance, the sepsis wasn't detected right away, it has affected her mental state, and that she had to wait for treatment. It doesn't sound real plausible though and since we have all experienced internet fakes and hot chicks turning out to be transgenders who drug you and do bad things to your stuff "down there" while you're passed out, calling bs is a pretty good bet.

@natty and whitestanz, I love the way you both assume I "got fooled" and "was wrong" without a scrap of evidence. Somebody mentioned the mugging story on the JF forum. Later I saw this thread and took the link to the "farewell" thread, noticed the completely different story and the fact that she had just posted in the "picture of yourself" thread, which also didn't add up. The closest I came to being "fooled" was wondering what was up and seeking information.

If she really does have some dangerous mental condition, what's most likely to "make it harder" is an audience making a big deal out of it and cursing at her. What's your personal beef that you're willing to do that? "Maybe you should take a deep look inside" yourself instead of scapegoating.

Coma's are used when your brain is swelling, due to tramatic injury. Not because your lungs are both punctured, along with your stomach, but the hospital keeps changing the day you are to be admitted to die. .
