Well done!
You and chipv are one of the best team I've ever seen when it comes to make maps. Good and clear map, a clear first post, really guys...congrats many mapmakers should look at this map to see how to develope their projects. =D>

Now the map. There's no so much to do, I've spent about 20 mins looking at the map and I've found nothing else than a couple of things.
So, here my advice/suggestions:
    Names:
    • Britanniae should be Britannia
    • Anglii could be also Angli (if you want to be precise Anglii is perfect, but romans used also Angli during the late period....up to you)
    • Galliae should be Gallia
    • Trevorum should be Treverorum
    • Huni should e Hunni
    • Technically during the 3rd century Costantinopolis was called Bysantio (but i think costantinopolis is fine because your map covers a long period of time)
    • Imperium Sasan should be or just Sassanidae or Imperium Sassanidarum.
    • Hispaniae could be just Hispania
    Fonts:
    • You have some crazy pixels on the map, I know that is the font and all them are very small things, but if you can fix them, then it would be great. On the big version, H of hispania (also the E, but it should be cutted), T and G of Carthago, R of Roma, T and N of Italia Annonaria, C of Illyricum, H, L and C of Thessalonica, T of Treverorum, U of Mediolanum, E of Aegyptus, L, A and R of Alexandria, N and C of Antiochia, A of Dacia, Both T of Costantinopolis, P of Ephesus. On the small version, U of Ephesus, both M of Sirmium, T of treverorum, T and G of Carthago. I hope i found all them, sorry if I mised something. :P
    Spacing:
    • Maybe I'm wrong but it seems you can improve the spacing between letters in some points of the map, for example Praefectura in the top legend (beneath Augustus), Londinium. Anyway this is a very minor thing.
    Circles:
    • Another minor thing, It's possible to swap the circle and the name of mediolanum? It seems strange to see mediolanum placed on Venice (again up to you, if there's no space it's ok as it is now)
    • Thracia looks a bit cluttered on ths small, Have you considered to increase a bit the small map size to have more space for numbers? It could help also to improve the text in the top legend where, for example the word regions looks blurry
    Labels:
    • On the small I suggest you to move a bit to the left Burdigala, i think it's better to have the G that overlaps the region border than the I.

A question: Where you say: "Legions can reach distant regions on their diocesis", do you mean all regions? Your example is very clear but I don't get if the legion can one way attack all the distant regions or just 2 regions away ( i guess the first option). To give you an example OII attacks OVII?

Everything else looks good to me. Oh I've found another border that could be refined, but it's a so small thing that I'm not going to complain for that. :P

Good work. Really, a very good work. ;)

Thanks a lot NB !!! :)

I'm getting my hands on all those issues right now.

EDIT:

Yes, you got it right. They can assault all distant regions ;)

just one small thing:

I have some doubts about the use of Galliae and Gallia (Britanniae,Hispaniae)
from what I know Galliae (the plural form) was how Romans called the Dioceses while Gallia was used for provinces*. Being that Galliae is one Diocese and appears like so on this map, maybe I should keep the plural form?

*under the Dioceses of Galliae (for instances) you have the following provinces:

Gallia Lugdunensis I
Gallia Lugdenensis II
Gallia Lugdunensis III
Gallia Lugdunensis IV
Belgica I
Gallia Belgica II
Germania I
Germania II
Alpes Poeninae et Graiae
Maxima Sequanorum

It has been passed a while since I stopped to study Latin....I should read in my old school books to confirm you what is the correct case to use. (I already imagine my mother's face when she will see me come back to my old home and start to search randomly through old school books! lol)
In any case, i think you used the genitive singular here, not nominative plural (e.g. diocesis of hispania --> diocesis hispaniae), that's why I suggested you to change the case.
I'm still convinced that Roman used Gallia X, Gallia Y, etc to indicate the provinces, but also Gallia in a general way to indicate the zone (that in this case matches with the sum of its parts) and that the map you used to collect your infos is obviously about diocesis so the diocesi word was omitted to semplificate the map. For example to say "Diocesis of Gallia" you can use "Diocesis Galliae" (where the ae could be "of" or the adjective that goes with the same case of the noun of reference in latin) but also "Gallia Diocesis".
Anyways, also Galliae coud be correct. The word indicates the sum of its parts, romans did this thing sometimes (synecdoche).

But I don't want to derail your map thread into a boring latin lesson so i think you can keep them as they are now (i'll search anyway but it's just because I'm curious to find the right answer ;) ).

I read Spanish too but the only thing I can remember is Me llamo, hola, te gusta and other common words. I can't put them into a sentence. I should've learned German instead :( ! But of course I already know some German words! Sieg hei...

I realize this was quite of topic so I think I'll have to add my support for the map and that I can't wait to see how this will play out! I have some concerns with how I think 1v1 will play out but nothing that would stop it from going to beta.

Galliae is both the genitive singular and nominative plural. The only time that really changes is third declension. ;)

Yes, I know "the third" is very special declension, although my favourite is the "neutral - 4th", the funniest.

................

Anyways, I'm personally happy with the map as it is now. Any further suggestions to improve the map?
If not, i think chipv can write the xml and after the official check we should be ready to go.
