And... well, if you think supporting jobs is all that matters, then I guess we should all just go support drug dealers. After all, they DO provide income to communities. And, often quite a lot.
yeah but those are only retail jobs!

Imagine that: Obama's only solution to his massive spending is massive new taxes.

You believe unemployment is at 9% because of taxes?

That's why it's still at 9%. Actually, more so because every speech this president makes, he talks about wanting to raise taxes, which creates complete economic uncertainty. Uncertainty means companies don't want to take on additional fixed-costs such as employees. Even more so with the health care mandate dropping the hammer on businesses in 2013.

If taxes were the cause of unemployment, how is it that the incredibly low corporate tax rates we've had for quite a number of years hasn't caused job growth to FLOURISH? I mean seriously, Night Strike...the corporate tax rate has been low for a long time, and these jobs are not showing up. The fact of the matter is that corporations do not create jobs, but rather purchasers create jobs.

No, not really. They often support social service programs as well. Sometimes its a kind of ironic "conscience making". Not saying its the best way, by ANY means, but saying that just talking about "creating jobs" is stupid without considering the kind of jobs created.

I see, but Nevada has a low tax rate and yet has unemployment of over 13%.

Because the President said the rich people need to stop vacationing there and should instead pay all that money to the government in higher taxes.

This president, if you can still call him that, is the most incompetent pretender that has ever run. If you voted for him you are responsible for all this mess we are in today. You are responsible for joblessness being at an all time high. You are responsible for a deficit that we can never repay. You are responsible for the sickest economy since the depression. You are responsible for everyone getting a house whether or not they can afford it. It is the rest of us that are paying for their mortgages. You are responsible for teachers getting cut, emergency services suffering, business men and women closing shop for lack of business. Obama got change that he was looking for, not for the change that America needs. We're in deep trouble if he gets re-elected.

Nevada Statistics 2005: http://www.myonlinemaps.com/nevada.php

Service & Entertainment(Nevada) - 24.0% (US Average 16.3%)

I also see Nevada's population grew at 20.8% from 2000 to 2005(US average 5.3%).

Anyway, that should tell you something if you account for the recent loss in disposable income.

I don't agree with this. He did not cause all of these problems. He made them worse.

... The corporate tax rate hits 25% at only $75,000 in sales/profits. At anything over $100,000, the rate is in the mid thirties. That is a high rate. And that is only federal taxes.

... And here is a fact that too many are ignoring. The current administration scares the hell out of business. It's been said by others and nobody paying attention can deny that our president continually attacks, at least publicly, "the wealthy". Business owners are, if not terrified, at least extremely cautious. They now have to contend with possible taxes on electricity tied to carbon. They have to find a way to deal with Obamacare - a huge tax that is going to hit them in the financial balls like a sledgehammer if it isn't done away with. They, especially the smaller businesses which employ the largest number of Americans, certainly are not going to be hiring. And the speeches continue, demanding that the "wealthy" pay their "fair share", etc.. etc.. ad nauseam.

... That's just the way it is, and the way it will remain until this whole thing stabalizes with either massive repeals or with decisions to move operations to other nations (not so easy for small businesses).

America is in need of cooperation, not partisan politics, yet you are in the midst of your worst bout of partisan politics ever.

You are too far polarized for anyone to succeed. Wake up and stop the rhetoric before it's too late you morons.

America is in need of taking care of its own and not listening to retards like you. What got us into a mess is outsiders such as our illegitimate president coming in and talking big and cool-aid drinkers falling for great words off of a teleprompter.

You can't cooperate with people who want to write blank checks and continue to run massive deficits. It's either be responsible and live within your means or don't and rack up more and more debt. "Compromises" just include spending more money, but less quickly than the run-uppers want. America doesn't win with that sort of cooperation or compromise. Conservatives are WAY past rhetoric: we're trying to deal with the reality of massive debt brought about by almost 100 years of progressivism.

You sound precisely like the sort of "cool-aid drinker" that you're decrying. Except you seem to be a lot less rational.

Except Nevada is ALSO pretty rich in natural resources, etc. If low taxes were indeed the driving force, it should have other industry.

Then why do you keep arguing for electing them.
