So, it's not funny seeing Einstein say "Oh Snap" after an astronomy joke?Phatscotty wrote:When did you give up troll pictures?BigBallinStalin wrote:Woodruff wrote:You're so dense that light bends around you.Phatscotty wrote:The biggest flaw of our current Capitalist system is Socialism.
Except, isn't the real flaw in insisting it has to be one or the other? Its like good and evil, you cannot have one without the other. Economically, you cannot have the total self-interest brought about by Capitalism without control, nor can you have the complete lack of individual incentive from communism or socialism. Instead, we need enough socialism to ensure that even those at the bottom are still allowed to be civilized, educated, human beings and yet, enough capitalism to ensure that people have incentives to move forward.Woodruff wrote:Every system has it's flaws. Do you think that Capitalism is a good idea still?
The state has no interest in and of itself. The state is just a framework of policies. It has no mind.BigBallinStalin wrote:What incentive does the state have to provide schools without a nationalist stance?
Good question, but several people have already answered... a combination of systems is best.cdbridges wrote:I think that capitalism is flawed because, even though it supports free enterprise and market selection of management practices and products, Capitalism only protects the most powerful people in our society. Those who are injured or ignorant fail to realise their full economic potential for society unless they are protected and educated.
My challenge is: What is a better economic system and why is it better?
Well, duh. It's just easier to say "state" then say "political and bureaucratic actors and the many other individuals who are incorporated within the apparatus of the state."PLAYER57832 wrote:The state has no interest in and of itself. Those in power, of course DO have self-interest.

It obviously isn't. If you had people creating wealth and caring for themselves instead of depending on entitlement programs the world would be a scary place.Pedronicus wrote:With the implosion of the western economies due to the banks, the heart of capitalism, going mad and broke in just 30 years of being deregulated to do what they do - make money.

All of it. You do understand the alternatives, don't you?Phatscotty wrote:Without capitalism, how much money would you be able to redistribute?

So, the question at hand: what incentive does the state have to provide schools without a nationalist stance
It is absolutely possible.BigBallinStalin wrote: As far net neutrality is concerned, it's not possible in reality given human behavior, so... <shrugs>
No, the imperialism is from the companies. Government schools, headed and supported by the people, educate. That is why the US had a superior educational system.BigBallinStalin wrote: At least with "BOOGA BOOGA BOOGA" corporations, or just private schools, there's competing ideas. With government schools, there's predominantly one general message--namely, developing a sense of nationalism, a.k.a. "The Empire Spirit."
